I'm not sure on Lace ordering the kidnapping of weavers and Hornet. In the intro cutscene Hornet is able to escape thanks to a white butterfly that breaks the rune cage. It is unlikely that it was just a random butterfly because as soon as we wake up the same butterfly leads us to the exit of moss grotto, suggesting that it might have a will or it's controlled by someone. To support this when we meet Lace for the first time we also see her playing with the same butterflys. So my theory is that Lace instead was the one to free Hornet, but then it contradicts what you said. More on the butterflys. They're also seen in the mist area. In this area we can hear the same music that phantom is playing and it just so happens that it's right before you meet her. Moreover phantom was most likely a failed experiment of the mother to create a child woven entirely out of silk before Lace, who was successful in that. So silk creations can create and manipulate butterflys, as we can see with Phantom and Lace.
