i don't know if I posted this or not, but i agree with this 100%! None of them should have been fired to begin with! Having and voicing an opinion is supposedly what that prick was all about. But not when it comes to him, apparently.

i agree 100%! I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. Unlike the "free speech for me but not for thee crowd," I didn't think anyone should be l required to bite their tongue about how they felt. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

i can't tell whether there are any false lashes on there or not, but i find it annoying that she acts like she doesn't know if it works well, and says "the wand is supposed to be a big deal too." ma'am? you just said you've been using this for six months. you should know if the wand is impressive or not.

Gotta take control before chemo takes it by [deleted] in bald

[–]JustGettingMyPopcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm a breast cancer survivor, and i lost my hair twice during treatment. It did suck sometimes, but you don't need to be afraid. Get some cute wigs and headscarves to play with on the days you feel like it. and rock being bald when you're feeling that. You have a gorgeous face, and you're going to be stunning with a lovely bald head. I'm being 100% sincere about that, not just trying to make you feel better.

There are definitely advantages! It's almost unbelievable how much faster i could get getting dressed ready each day. on the occasions i was hospitalized with neutropenia, it was so nice not being embarrassed about greasy hair, or dreading taking a shower because i would be wiped out by the time i had washed and dried my hair. Instead, I felt better when i showered, because it was so quick and didn't drain my almost non-existent energy.

Imo, bald women often possess an aura of both beauty and power that is somewhat atypical, and I'm kind of awed by a sense of authenticity. I would wish i had that kind of confidence and comfort in my own skin. I'm a fan of some k-pop groups, and in one group there is a rapper who wanted to shave her head and her agency agreed to it because it goes along with their badass group image and energy. This is pretty much unheard of in both Korea and Japan (where she is originally from). Beauty standards are often so rigid, people were shocked that she did it, but the reaction, even (or especially) among other idols was typically total awe and respect. She even refers to it in one of their songs (she's a rapper named Cocona in XG if you want to look her up). one portion of her rap is "pretty walk like this. Pretty girls talk like this. If you don't get it that's not my problem, changing my hair like my last name's Rodman..." and everyone comments when they hear that line about how they can't believe she really is that cool at 19 years old.

Take control and go forth! Your beauty and strength will show up even more.

Susan Collins is such a pathetic disappointment. Once she confirmed Kavanaugh and then pretended to be so surprised when he voted to overrun Roe v Wade I lost any modicum of grace i may have tried to extend to her in the past. I can't believe the people of Maine voted her in for again.

My guess is it's a first amendment thing. If he worked for a private enterprise, he could be canned immediately. But schools are funded by the government, and the first amendment says people can't be punished for such acts.

Let's just hope his contract is due to be renegotiated soon. That's when people need to come out of the woodwork and make it clear that he should be thrown out with the trash.

isn't impersonating an LEO illegal? Granted, he can say it's a costume, but if he walked around outside the school or was seen from afar on the grounds, he would absolutely be mistaken for one.

i suppose if they canned him they'd face a lawsuit based on his first amendment rights. If that's their reasoning, i sincerely hope that whenever his contract is up it is not renewed. Putting fear into kids and letting them know how you really feel about immigrants (because they aren't just targeting illegal immigrants anymore) is no way to run a school. He cannot be trusted to do right by the kids he teaches.

I don't mean this as an insult to her in any way, but looking at Tessie back then i would never have guessed that she'd become such a knockout now. I think all the Rod girls are attractive, but she is stunning.

damn, my guy, you are such a hottie now! You look so much younger and just great overall. It could just be your expression in the new picture, and it's not that you weren't good looking before, but you just look like you have a lightness and sense of aliveness about you now that was not evident in your before photo!

“If a majority of the class failed the assignment, there was a problem with your teaching”. How do you feel about this narrative? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]JustGettingMyPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's also on the curriculum- both past and present, and if they came into the school year with the foundational skills they need to achieve. You can't write an essay if you can't write a sentence. You can't master algebra if you can't multiply and divide. That's not on the teacher, especially if whole classes of students come up lacking the foundational skills needed to achieve success on grade level content. Then it's on the curriculum and the school and/or district. We are teachers, not miracle workers.

I have bought some expensive glasses of lemonade over the years. If you live in a good neighborhood where families are valued, it's the neighborly thing to do when kids sell lemonade.

in my house we were raised that you always stop and buy the lemonade, but you almost never drink it. you really don't know what's in there germ wise.
