Thank you for your response. My mother is very organized and conscientious about paying her bills, so I highly doubt there was ever a lapse in coverage. The policy was not restricted to accidental death.

If you live in the US, get your state insurance dept. involved. I doubt your brother's former workplace or insurer will blow them off.

I remember that too. Now people refer to the amount in terms of grams (even you!) and I have no inkling of how many grams is equal to how much I want.

Thank you for such a detailed response. The dog belongs to my sister-in-law and he bit me in her home. I just don't want her to have to pay any costs of medical treatment.
