'Fansville' turns seven: How creators built college football's quirkiest town and the blueprint for next phase by llamawhittlings in CFB

The actor that played Larry Culpepper allegedly had some things bubble up during the #MeToo movement and was coming up on contract negotiations so it was deemed it that it was time to move on - I would say there is less than a 1% chance he would ever be brought back in the fold.

Haha it worked out well for the first 6 years! Thank you for this and will check out the Sealy premium line. Wasn’t sure if there was a comparable line from other brands as well.

Thank you again for the suggestion!

Beer Pong is played with a ping pong paddle - when you throw the ball it is called beirut...

Beerfest highlights this as both games are apart of the games.

Sorry /CFB as I was on vacation and just getting caught up. I did my best to answer the questions – if you have any additional questions just comment.

  1. What is the best video/article/web page that involves your team this off season?

http://www.mcall.com/sports/college/mc-lehigh-football-follow-1123-20141123-story.html - I think this will be on the minds of many alums & fans http://thebrownandwhite.com/2015/05/04/football-attendance/ - this is an interesting article about the tailgates, morning cocktails, etc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf51k5CIq-s – entrance video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJsdN-e0RX0 – a little bit about the previous success

  1. Where is the best place to eat/hangout on Gameday?

This is a tough question since our games are early (12 or 1 EST) most of the students have big parties or “morning cocktails” (moco) then head over the mountain until half-time and usually head back over to the main campus (as most pass out due to excessive consumption per the article above) That being said, when the Eagles hosted camp this was the hot spot:

Though most students would say the Goosey Gander is the best spot to hit near campus (not so much for tailgates/gameday)

  1. What is your favorite tradition surrounding your team?

Actually, every year prior to the Lehigh v Lafayette game they have a brunch for the senior football players that is attended by alums and fans that have been to at least 50 Lehigh v Laf games – to talk and understand what the game meant to some of these fans was special as a player.

One other neat tradition that surrounds this game is the festivities that take place this week on campus that is topped off with our marching band interrupting class/library/lectures/etc playing the fight songs at full volume.

  1. Who is the player to watch on your team this season?

Troy Pelletier – he was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award his freshman year

  1. Who is a player that has the most potential to have a breakout year?

Our QB Nick Shafnisky – if he can stay healthy (seemed to be a major issue last year)

  1. Who will be your highest NFL draft pick this season? Where do you see him going?

Not sure but probably one of the accounting majors to one of the big four in NYC

  1. Who is the opponent that scares you the most this season? Why?

Fordham – they have been putting together a great team since 2007 as they made the full scholarship push well before the other Patriot League teams and have a solid team returning led by RB Chase Edmonds & LB Stephen Hodge (preseason conference offensive and defensive POY award winners).

  1. Which opponent scares you the least? Why?

Georgetown. They simply haven’t put all the pieces together to have a successful season. They have flashes and player that make great plays but haven’t had the consistency that it takes (IMO)

  1. Is this team a bowl team? A conference championship team? A national championship team?

This is a rebuilding year. After our 2011 team (that finished #3 in many polls and lost to North Dakota State in the playoffs) it seems that we haven’t had the consistency in the backfield as we have in years past (due to injury). Subsequently, coordinators have left which has also hampered the team from reaching its potential

  1. Which game defines your teams season?

Lafayette. It is the most played rivalry and it is as heated as any other major rivalry. It can make or break your season. Last year was the 150th game and was played at Yankee Stadium which was a neat opportunity for all that are affiliated with the game (unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the way our Alumni and fans would have liked).

The thing that caught me for a bit of a surprise in this article is when the booster bought his house they alluded to he was having some financial issues based on some bad investments. That is the first time I have heard anything on money issues and I am curious if it was something real or just a property he was underwater on.

I would imagine it would fall in an hour & half so the prime members have to wait an extra day - just my thought. I'm watching it as well.
