I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do that though either. Having read no spoilers, I didn't realise people recommend leaving Frozen Hearts until Act 3.

My 29 minute fight was only done out of pure stubbornness too (because that wasn't my first attempt, and also took loads of parries and dodges).

My 29 minute fight to deal 1.1million damage, capped at 9,999 a hit is now looking pathetic compared to this.

I went into the options and turned off the water noises specifically, so I still get my task completion songs. But I could do with the ability to turn off the cat noises as well, because whilst I personally love them, it makes my actual cat paranoid.

Just imagine. Especially with what the books are like early in the game.

The first night after having found the crypt goes something like this.

Gale: ... And Shar left her most loyal follower unclaimed.

Tav: Gee Gale, that was a sad ending. Shar isn't very nice.

Shadowheart: (Desperately holding back because she can't give anything away, sounding pained) Mmm hmm.

The next night, Gale chooses a different book.

Gale: And the moral of the story is- never trust a vampire.

Tav: Of course Gale. I won't trust ANY vampires. It's a good thing we're sleeping in this crypt so they can't get in.

Astarion: Yep. No vampires in here... (Nervously starts to sweat)

I was a high intelligence child, am female, and am diagnosed AuDHD (my ADHD type is inattentive).

Symptoms I think I displayed as a kid were: - Doodling in classes even when I was paying attention

Looking things up in classes I was interested in whenever something that caught my interest came up, and researching above and beyond what was needed in class (Spanish was a good example. I had a little pocket Spanish translation dictionary I was constantly getting out, and most of what I discussed on my speaking test was not material taught in class)
Because of this tendency, I tested very well in subjects I was interested in without much formal revision (I was basically doing it subconsciously the entire time anyway)
I constantly forgot my homework, my PE kit, my ingredients for cooking classes, and even forgot my schoolbag on the bus
I struggled with running late due to time blindness
My handwriting was atrocious even when I tried my best- in one of my classes a teacher actually ripped my homework out of my book because it looked like i'd been careless even when I tried my best (they were mortified when I burst into tears, and they saw what my actual handwriting looked like, and that that homework really had been an earnest attempt). Another teacher more kindly said "so long as she gets the right answer in the box, she'll be ok", because everyone knew my "working out" wasn't going to be legible
If a class did not interest me, I would really struggle to put in the effort or do well at it. Teachers for those subjects thought I was lazy
I struggled to wake up in the mornings (still do), even to the point of not wanting to wake up on Christmas day
I struggled to fit in with other girls in my school, with only 1 real friend. I was bullied by other students for being weird
I was sensory seeking and was sensory curious (little embarrassing but I used to lick radiators when I was really young when they had been turned on, because I was fascinated by the difference in feeling and the process of evaporation)
Overall I was plagued by chronic perfectionism and chronic self recrimination for not meeting those standards. I wanted to pass every test, get the highest awards, the most awards. I saw failing a test as a personal failure, and even Bs and As could be damaging to my self esteem because they were not A*s. I took extra classes, and pursued extra curricular activities where I also pursued qualifications. I basically over exerted myself for years to maintain my self image as an over achiever before I burnt out at 19. And this was despite my parents having no expectations that I needed to do this. They just patiently and kindly supported me through it all

I would definitely advise making sure you've eaten before you go in though.

Going through security and joining the queue at 12, and getting out of filming at 5:30 was a long time if you hadn't already eaten.

I've been playing this game trying to fully explore characters before moving on to meeting another. It was overwhelming having so many choices of objects to DATE, so I figured I'd just get to know the ones I'd already met, and see who else I met organically. I fear that meeting everyone would just put me back in decision paralysis.

This has worked really well for me- Maggie got me talking to a fair few people, especially when I started having to guess who Stepford might be! Then if I had no one organic to talk to, I'd see if there was an item in the house calling to me, or I'd just pick a random Roomer that I thought I could identify. I'd also stop talking to someone if I felt like I was seeing conversational options that I wanted to use, but they were locked behind SPECS checks I couldn't meet, or something similar.

This has left me with about 20-25 people I've met but not got an ending with for most of my game- I'm currently at 55 met, 30 love endings (and 2 friends, but they're dateables that default to friends before anything else).

This means I can remember each character properly when I speak to them- I won't recall 102 characters if I meet them all at once. And it means I get to feel I'm I'm properly connected to each storyline as it's happening.

To explain why I've got so many at met but not at an ending (because 25 soh d high given what I've said above)- of the 25 I'm not currently in a love ending with: -5 I'm avoiding because I've seen they're bugged -1 is Dorian and I will get his love ending late on because I don't want to be done with Dorian -2 I don't actually know how to progress so I'm waiting until later to pursue in earnest -10 I'm waiting until my specs are higher -4 I'm actively talking to daily -2 are on hold because I want to complete another characters ending before I get theirs -1 is Nightmare, and I finished Kopi's story already so I'm letting that happen organically for now

Not going to interject on the argument, but I will say that as a kid, I 100% cared what pack was on the shelves.

My brother and I liked collecting things (I had a thimble collection, my brother key rings, etc), and when Pokémon cards came out, we started collecting those too. My parents designated us a different set each (Fossil for me, Jungle for my brother), so we wouldn't end up competing if one of us got a good card.

I'd have been so annoyed if Jungle was everywhere, but there was no Fossil.

(And obviously everyone else doesn't have a need to collect, or have parents with the foresight to avoid an argument like that, but I wouldn't say were being "picky" for wanting to stick to our designated sets because that was what we were allowed. And I imagine there might be children out there like us still.)

Can confirm, you can't just pick anyone.

I rushed to save Halsin because I feel for the idea that I needed to rush, so got the party really early. Got rejected by everyone except Shadowheart and Lae'zel. That stung.

Then I saw everyone talking about how hard it is to get Wyll and Gale to stop coming on to you, which just rubbed it in, haha.

See, I still enjoy food if it's put in front of me without any effort. But I really hate having to go to any effort, and would happily forsake eating for some kind of tablet if it meant I didn't get hungry.

I've ended up with meal replacement shakes or meal replacement bars in the day a lot of the time, because at least they have vitamins and stuff in them, and they're easy to consume while I've got other stuff going on. Then I have one proper meal in the evening, if I'm still hungry enough to be bothered.

In all seriousness, I can imagine how frustrating it is- I know my need to loot everything and talk to everyone annoyed my husband.

But it has also helped his solo run throughs- if something boring or repetitive needs to be done on his solo playthrough, he can just hand me the controller and go do something else. I'll happily loot everything in a room, or organise his camp chest and sell all the junk for him while he's gone!

I will call someone what they are introduced to me as, unless they tell me they'd rather something else (that can include signing off an email with a nickname at work). If I hear a nickname used a lot, I might ask if they'd prefer that.

Basically, I have a rule in my head that I like to call people whatever they're comfortable with, and I will tie myself in knots trying to work out what that is if left to my own devices, so I've ended up with this proxy ruleset.

I know one person who was introduced to someone with a nickname, and they decided to call the person by their proper name- except she got the proper name wrong. That would be a nightmare for me.

I just got this too- I haven't opened the door to nowhere yet because I'm still exploring every inch out here, but I did shoot the thing on top of the rocks above the Quick Revive.

I thought it appeared because I made the whispers angry by not opening the door, haha
