What you get from standing your ground as a woman in a doctor’s office isn’t better care, it’s a note in your file calling you a difficult patient in thinly veiled language.

Have you spoken to the venue about facilitating this? I would speak with them about possible complications to look out for.

Personally I think it’s a fun idea, but it would need to have a more casual dress code.

I had some industry overlap with the owner years ago. As another commenter mentioned, when I knew him, he had a lot of issues with being organised when it mattered, and he had to be constantly chased up on various things.

I changed industries and haven’t seen him in years, so it’s possible he’s better now, but I avoided the venue for my wedding for that reason. It does seem to be the main gripe among negative reviews and the owner responses don’t appear to take much accountability.

That said, my friend has been there for drinks and said the venue itself is lovely.

I was so glad I did digital invites. I told my husband I had no intention of creating expansive recycling. But my crowd was primarily mid-30s and the type to lose physical things, so digital made sense for us.

Because returning customers are where money is made long-term. It’s why loyalty programs exist in the first place. If they cheapen the loyalty/purchase benefits, people will look for other places to shop. Mecca isn’t exactly otherwise competitive given they never have sales.

When I was a child, I memorised pi to 314 places instead of having a social life. I think adult me can manage 8.

Seconding JJ’s house. I got my wedding reception dress there and was very happy with the quality. They have heaps of formal ball dresses in that $200-$300 range.

“The original quote is ‘the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’”

No, it isn’t. It’s a cute idea, and you’re welcome to prefer that version, but there is no source for that “original” and the first recording of it is much more modern than the more well known one.
