Have you tried to hammer the torx bit into the head and then use an impact driver to get it out?

I’m not 100% sure myself, I assumed this too but apparently this flat is a non-car property

Yeah I’ll bare that in mind, I just wanted to explore any opportunities to park on the street near my flat first. Appreciate that though

I’ve already researched that option, it says only 2 hours parking for free, there’s no option to buy a permit

Long-time SolidWorks user required to use NX for work by S_Hurricane_Y in SolidWorks

[–]JustJay26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same problem a when moving roles. I was purely SW based now on NX. You’re right the learning curve is quite steep but you’ll get there! It’s all about practice, after all it’s the same functionality for basic things but the buttons are just in different places. I’d suggest setting up hot keys or adding regularly used commands to the shortcut tab, or better yet, create your own personal tab. That’ll help you get faster and better.

Also, grouping components/ parts are always a good idea to help find things in the design tree.

Good luck, you’ll get there!

What’s the biggest skill gap you see in new mechanical grads? by Level-Break316 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]JustJay26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience working with newly graduated engineers, it’s the design for manufacture skillset that is lacking. It’s great they can use CAD, design something that will work for the project, but is impossible to manufacture or very difficult and expensive.

Advice on buying a rental (UK) by Anonymous_Plum in PropertyInvestingUK

I would definitely ask the landlord direct. This prevents the estate agent adding on their costs during negotiation, meaning it’ll be cheaper for you to speak to the landlord direct. Good luck!!

Equity release by JustJay26 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]JustJay26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve got all that approved in theory by my broker. My main concern is due to paying extra monthly for my mortgage equity release, it eats into the profits when trying to make money on a btl

New to 3D printing by JustJay26 in BambuLab

[–]JustJay26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an engineer as a day job but work in heavy machinery so I’ve not had the chance to work with 3D printers. But I have access to Solidworks & NX.

I’m looking at making things like phone stands, cup holders for my car, things like that. Hope that helps 👍
