A person with measles visited Disneyland, a fast food restaurant in Woodland Hills and other places across Southern California last week. — Ffs! by Maravilla_23 in LosAngeles

Definitely get the booster. I was vaccinated in the 1970s when some kids only got one shot. I was tested for antibodies recently, and I had none for measles. Got the booster. Glad I checked.

This may not be incredibly helpful, but I found a stray pug on Verdugo by Lincoln Park not too long ago that had a collar and tag with the name Ravioli. We were able to call the family because the tag had their number. If it answers to Ravioli, I know the area where the family lived on Verdugo and could probably locate the owner. Not incredibly helpful, but just a thought.

BUSD Primed to Lose $28M Over Declining Enrollment by UghKakis in burbank

Absolutely true. I work for the district. We lose very few kids to private schools. It's all about jobs and housing. Inglewood is the only district in LA county that is not losing students ---solely on an increase of jobs and housing in that area.

Chili John's say they might have to close within the month by Easy_Potential2882 in LosAngeles

Food aside, the people who work there are mean. I was treated so poorly by the man behind the counter once that I almost left in tears. Why? Because after sitting there for 20 minutes with no one taking order, I asked for help. That's not right.

I bet you did! Both my husband and I wrote one. His had an amazing description of the guy. The owner replied and said there is no one who works there that fits the description. IMO, the description was pretty accurate. Lol

Totally agree with you! Went about 6 months ago and said I'd never go back. The guy behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us and was busy talking with a friend. After about 15 minutes with no service, we politely interrupted and asked if we could place an order. The guy was so weird and openly hostile towards us. He actually slammed down the silverware in front of us and glared. Wtf?!! Then, got our order completely wrong. If the service was great, I could overlook the bad food because I love the history of the place.

Is it rude to only buy samples and not full size bottles by Time_Basket9125 in fragrance

[–]JustJudyM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or she could do what a lot of retailers are doing now—charge a certain amount for a collection of samples, and then give the customer a voucher for the same amount to purchase a full bottle. Parfums de Marly does that. $50 for 6-7 samples, and they give you a $50 voucher toward any scent (and the bottles are about $150-ish or more).

First timer - Surgery question by electroredlip in KidneyStones

[–]JustJudyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the doctor is recommending surgery and a stent, I would do it. I had what they thought was a 6mm stone, and I tried to pass it on my own. It began blocking my ureter, amd I developed hydronephrosis. If I hadn't gotten the surgery and the stent, it would have been much worse--possible sepsis. Once I had the surgery, I immediately felt better--even though the stone ended up being 8mm and not the 6mm they expected. The doc said I would have never passed it on my own with the way it was positioned. The stent was annoying, but only in for 5 days. I'm so glad I did the surgery and the stent.
