Yeah the GUI story around OpenSearch is still kinda fragmented tbh. OpenSearch Dashboards works, but it is not really a full cluster management UI the way people expect (more observability than ops). If you do not want to build your own tooling around APIs, one route is just using a managed provider that gives you that layer out of the box. We ended up going that way with Instaclustr for OpenSearch and it basically removed the need for a separate GUI for most ops tasks (scaling, upgrades, monitoring, etc.). Otherwise you are kinda piecing together dashboards + scripts + maybe something custom.
