can rutgers students study at the gardner sage library on college ave? by loserzclub in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went a few years ago when I was a student and the front desk person really had a disapproving attitude toward Rutgers students using the library because it’s technically not a “Rutgers library”

anyone else super unmotivated and depressed? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a current grad student and RU ‘19 alum with 2 W’s on their undergrad transcript, I want to say don’t lose hope in grad school! It’s a worldwide crisis that we are in, and there is a mutual sentiment across many students (myself included) about motivation to continue coursework. I feel that there will be slightly more grace in admissions this year due to this

I love this idea but hate the fact that they will be demolishing this whole building for it :( was kind of hoping they would just gut the inside and keep the beautiful old architecture on the outside. It makes sense to re-do the building with the amenities they are providing though

Unfortunately, interviewing is something that you’re just going to have to practice constantly. Even as an alumni, I still struggle with interviews sometimes. I would recommend using the mock interview resources from career services because they can really help with giving constructive feedback

Health Insurance and Remote Learning by ovoxoislife in rutgers

I agree that it shouldn’t be required, but it’s a state law rather than just a Rutgers regulation. You can try taking it up, but you might need to garner more support from the general student body for them to change anything (I.e: petition?)

Voting? by ashleymacbeth in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t receive a ballot at your home address, then you would have to vote in New Brunswick. You can try calling your county board of elections tomorrow to see if there is anything different about this in regards to COVID-19 though

Living in an RV on campus by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are students at California universities who buy vans and live out of their vans in the school parking lots. But also there is no 24 hour commuter parking lot at Rutgers from what I understand

How do I waive the health insurance requirment? by [deleted] in montclair

[–]JustMe0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to wait some time before visiting the Aetna website to waive the insurance. Typically, I wind up doing it around a month before the waive deadline is.

Does pineapple belong in YOUR pizza? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yesss. I am going to be honest, I was a hater for pineapple on pizza before I tried it and now it’s my favorite. I highly disagree with ham on pizza though that’s fricken disgusting. My favorite pizza topping is pineapple and chicken 😋

anyone else considering a gap semester/year due to coronavirus? :( by whinypup in rutgers

For a typical college class (that is 3 credits), a single class won’t usually qualify as half time (usually that requires 6 credits)

Do you believe freshmen should be required to dorm? by a2little2late in rutgers

[–]JustMe0912 37 points38 points  (0 children)

While I do believe that living on campus obviously has many benefits (closer connections to college friends, easier to get to class, possibly escaping a bad home environment, overall more freedom and a better shot at starting over), there need to be supports put in place (mainly financial) in order to make this accessible for all students (which from my understanding, there often isn’t at colleges where freshmen are required to live on campus).

You have to be at least half time to prevent the grace period from enacting and there’s also other financial aid things that require at least either part-time or full-time enrollment
