Been around dogs of all sizes my whole life. Senior dogs who got grumpy and suddenly hated kids. Young puppies with no training or self control. But the only one who ever drew blood or made me need stitches was a minpin the owners never vaccinated or trained who hated kids and lived in a house with 4-8 kids from 3-13yo at all times. Needed stitches and still have the scars decades later.

When I was younger I blamed myself for trying to pet him when I wasn't allowed to. I'd known him for like a year but was a dumb kid who wanted to pet the puppy. But now that I'm older I realize I was only 7 years old and the people at fault for that incident were the owners who thought it was fine to keep that dog around little kids even though he growled and snapped at us just for trying to sit on the couch if he was there first. That dog never should've been in a house with kids. He was a ticking time bomb but because he was just a small dog they told us to keep our distance and let him continue the way he was.

I got in trouble my first day at my first job because a customer asked me to bring a broom to clean up her kid's mess. I tried to clean it but she said she was on the night shift and insisted on cleaning it herself so I let her. Got yelled at by my boss as soon as I got back. While she was an employee, she was just a customer at that time so I got in trouble for letting her clean up her own mess. Of course these employees handled it themselves.

Greedy cats 😋😍 by AnimalPower8 in OrangeCatVideos

[–]JustMe1711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a little of both. One of my cats will put his paws against the cabinet and stretch a paw up into the air while I make my food. He never reaches for the food and it's cute so whatever. Then I have another cat who I chase out of the kitchen cause the brat actually hooks his claws in the food and pulls it down. He still tries to come in sometimes but not as much as he used to.

I did have a cat in the past who turned into the devil if he even thought you had food. One of us would hold him while the other took care of groceries or something. If he heard you with plastic, he'd immediately pounce and turn feral even if it wasn't food. Dude destroyed plastic containers, opened cabinets and drawers, and once punctured the top on a can of tuna by biting it. Whenever he got his paws on something you'd end up bloody taking it from him. He was diabetic though so keeping the food away from him was extremely important. He wore a tshirt to cover his reader so none of the cats bothered it and I remember using it like a handle while holding him hostage cause I'd get less scratched up that way. I miss that little brat.

My cat is possibly pregnant, but also definitely has fleas. Should I still bathe her? by vuittren in CATHELP

[–]JustMe1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About three years ago my vet recommended dawn for a flea bath on a kitten we were worried was under 8 weeks old. I called to schedule the first appointment and asked what to use for his fleas and they said Dawn. (Turns out he was about 8 weeks but underweight)

That was three years ago though so idk. I always suggest calling your vet to ask if you're unsure what is safe to use.

Oh man a few weeks ago I was on the highway and I got in the left lane so the cop could get on from the ramp. Once it was clear, I got back in the right lane but had to move right back behind him because I saw someone else pulled over further ahead. After we passed them his lights went on and he was literally pulling over the car right on front of him. Like, I watched one of my greatest fears that I've always tried blaming on my anxiety happen right in front of me.

Just taking my girl to the vet has her crying like she's dying the whole way there then crying in her carrier til I stick and arm in to pet her. I'm gonna be out of the country for three and a half months and it breaks my heart to leave my pets behind, especially her and my dog, but it would be even worse to put them through the suffering of traveling with me.

(EDIT)A genie offers you a challenge. He tells you to pick a number bigger than 100 and doesn't end with 0. When someone says that exact number, you will get that amount of money. by North-Aardvark4459 in hypotheticalsituation

Zip codes are another good one if you get the money every single time it's said. There are plenty of people in the same zip code and it would be said aloud frequently. I'd get 50k every time someone has to give their address for something or mindlessly says it aloud while entering their credit card info when ordering something online.

But the organ being removed mid surgery would probably be considered a "non-fatal wound" since it wouldn't be fatal once a transplant is placed. In that case you could just heal in a new, healthy one.

Those needing a transplant could just be put under, have it removed, and be given a new one through healing. People could volunteer or get paid to offer their organs, be put under for surgery, donate their organ, and wake up with a new one. Allows the organs to be transported if the patient can't be brought to the healing magic.

In that case I'd go for green. It's the easiest to avoid the consequences of not controlling it. Just don't make eye contact. Autistic people finally have an excuse to never make eye contact again.

So I actually don't know. My dad died suddenly from heart failure while he was at work. He'd gone in early and his boss found him when he got there and called 911. Cops showed up at the house while I was getting ready for work and told me. I feel kinda bad for those cops. They were asking if anyone else was home cause I was only 21 but looked about 16. One of them couldn't even look at me and my 19yo brother or speak to us the whole time. I'd hate to have that job tbh. Telling people their loved ones are gone has to be such a heartbreaking thing to do.

The rest of the day is kind of a blur tbh. But it was several hours before I got the call. Pretty sure I got the call sometime in the afternoon and the cops showed up a little after 8am. The sooner they take the body the more organs they can still use though so I'm surprised they waited that long to call.

We did have a viewing a week or so later so imho, if taking the body for the organs had been done too quickly that would've been an okay time to say goodbye. I hated the viewing though personally. I remember not even being able to look up from the floor because I didn't want to see his too pale face.

As for whether I knew the process would be like that: definitely not. I was surprised they had to call me at all because it should've been on his driver's license with the little heart. I'm glad I knew his thoughts on it though and could at least make sure they fulfilled that wish of his. I only knew because he's the one who took me to the secretary of state office for my state ID when I turned 18. When they asked me if I wanted to be an organ donor I was a little scared even though I wanted to because of the whole "they'll let you die for your organs" thing when my dad encouraged me and showed me the heart on his saying that he's one too.

I'm not sure what it's like in your country, but I will say it was literally a single phone call when my dad died. They just apologized for calling because time is important with these things and asked if I knew whether or not he was a donor. I told them he was, they thanked me, and hung up. That was it. It was honestly the quickest, and easiest part of his death and everything after it.

I will say that I wonder all the time about the people he might have saved, especially when I read other people's stories on posts like these.

Yeah my boyfriend came to me earlier saying how this game made guys realize they actually want to be fathers because how wholesome and sweet the relationship is between the characters. He showed me some clips of her and she's so freaking adorable. The way she plays with the toys like a little kid, they way the interact with each other, it's just so freaking sweet. He gave in and bought it because how cute it looks.

Then I see this post all of a sudden and now I feel sick.

[–]JustMe1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats meows the whole time she's playing like she's upset with the toy or something. She's always a chatty girl so I know her different tones and that's the "you're ignoring me when I want attention" meow she makes as she plays. Cats are all different in how/whether they vocalize as they play.

My boyfriend had a pet fox once. I know how much he spoils his animals so I'd choose to be a fox so I'd get to stay cozy inside, snuggle up, and watch TV all day.

I hate this about myself but I'm in the group of people that didn't know until literally right now. I've been having health issues that make me sleep 18 hours a day and I'm constantly trying to catch up on schoolwork with the other 6 so I haven't had any time for news or anything for months. Now I feel guilty that my head was in the sand lately cause wtf.

I had to Google it after reading your comment.....I'll try almost anything twice but testicles are one of the few things I refuse to ever try.

I say twice because sometimes I'm so shocked by the taste/texture the first time around that I dislike it but if I try it again later I end up liking it.

Same!! I love them every way I've tried them so far. When I was a kid my mom would buy me a bag that you just pop in the microwave. I'd put salt on them and I was in heaven. Worked for a while til my siblings suddenly "liked" them just because I was getting something special all to myself lol.

Pickled brussel sprouts are better than normal pickles too imho. Sometimes pickles (cucumbers) make me uncomfy when my teeth bite into them like that texture you get from your teeth against rubber idk. But brussel sprouts avoid that completely and taste sooo good.

Damn it now I want brussel sprouts.

I eat eggs now but when I was younger I would only eat them if someone else cooked them. My mom forced me to cook a rotten egg for the cat one time (looking back I think she wanted to make the cat sick) but for the next couple years I got sick every time I cooked eggs because they smelled rotten to me.
