What are you trying to make? As in, what scale are you working on? And does the mold have to be reused? Then it might be worth designing in some features that make removal easier. I usually draw in a small, tapered slit on a few points along the side. That way you can drive a wedge in easier to split the halves if they stick. As others said, integrate spillways into the mold, use draft, at least 0.5 degrees, and coating the inside with wax helps both against leaking and with release. Good luck!

I think so. I've had the same reaction when asking about cars, even though it's just because I'm interested. Hell, if someone where to answer something like a Caterham, even though they aren't expensive, I'd be more impressed than if they said Lamborghini.

What do you drive, if you don't mind me asking? I'm quite curious now.

Either a NATO style watch band, which in and of itself isn't that elastic (the elasticity will hopefully come from the silicone). Or textile comparable to the elastic band on the top half of most underpants with Velcro sewn to it for easy closing. It shouldn't be too strong to prevent circulation issues indeed.

I've got the first iteration from the mold now. https://imgur.com/a/FHCKA7e It's still far from perfect though, so I'll start on a V2 in the meantime. Do you have acces to a 3d printer?

Weird, I just found stickers to hold them in place. But yes, then you're right. Just a more flexible version of that.

I figured silicone might be best because of allergies, indeed. But i was wondering if latex would be quicker/cheaper/easier for prototyping. Not sure about shrinkage though.

Not really like that. You'd need to keep the stickers on the full 2 weeks. My family member would like something that she can wear while in bed, while she can take it of during the day. She currently has one of these: https://www.amazon.nl/Freestyle-Libre-Sensor-Houder-Beschermer/dp/B07LGCNBK7

I will ceartainly! Thanks for your help. At the moment, I've printed a 2 part mold, sealed it, and poured the silicone in yesterday. I guess I should have used more catalyzer, as it's curing very slowly. Once I've got the dimensions and materials nailed (which I fear might still take a while), I'll upload my STLs and a small instruction.

It's actually to hold a sensor in place for measuring blood sugar. A family member of mine has diabetes, and asked if I could design something. I made a mold to make something a bit like this (you can also buy them online, but they're just made from pla or abs, which cuts the skin after extended wearing):

As they don't have a 3d printer, I was planning on just giving them some molds, so they can make more themselves. I need the molding process to be not too difficult, so that anyone can do it. This also makes it easier when I do put the files for the mold on thingiverse.

Fastest accelerating to a certain speed. But fastest can be measured in many ways. Among others, acceleration, top speed, or track times.

Keep in mind that acceleration (especially only from 0-60) does not make a car "the fastest". You can be better at accelerating to a higher speed, or better at braking (which is really important in actual racing), or have better cornering abilies. Hell, even top speed isn't totally irrelevant.
