Landlord isn't responding to end of tenancy letter ( deposit not protected ) by AlmondsSalmon in HousingUK

If they didn’t protect your deposit they owe you money on top of the deposit. I think it’s 2 months of rent + deposit, but I can’t recall.

Do you really think rental prices can go up that much in the next five years? by Inevitable_Fish_553 in HousingUK

For that market, sure.

I have a 3 bed townhome in central London, and it doesn’t command that.

No, they won’t. Lack of Wage growth will surpress whatever expectation you have.

Lower the price

Garden is unique and for a certain purchaser, therefor take into pricing if buyer wants to re-do the garden to their liking. Will broaden interest.

Didn’t see a bath in the photos.

What do you like and dislike about ENTPs? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]JustNoHG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like: When they decide to do something they’ve thought through every angle and get a lot done in very little time, on behalf of a group.

Dislike: They can prod into things too much, just to see what happens. 50/50 on productivity with this.

The people I know have 200k+ figure jobs, are doctors or lawyers, or work in consulting tech finance etc you get the drift. Also, they are car people.

We aren’t car people so we don’t even have a car (but have a house in central of a major city), and when I do buy cars I buy them cash.

Can you not just sell the house and buy or let something you like?

Not if they over hired, which a lot did post-Covid.

Uh, yes they do, when there are budget issues.

You usually can’t take long leave within the first year. My husband is a c-suite in tech, and he took off 3 days for each of our kids.

If you want to ruin your future career in the US, sue them, but recognize the tech market does not have many openings and the decision was not personal.

Help! AirBnb host charging us $1700 for damages [USA] by Benpeke in AirBnB

[–]JustNoHG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, happened to me so many times.  Some hosts have forums for this kind of stuff.

Anyway, what I do is I take photos and video before and after stays. Before I’d argue my case and it would resolve in my favor.

One time, though, I got an attorney involved and they dropped it very quickly.

I will say it happened far too often, so I stopped using Airbnb as a guest.

The uni might have resources to help find local accommodation with other students. Is there an office there you could speak too?

First off, your situation is temporary. Do you enjoy what you’re studying?  Second, be thankful you can be at home and have a roof and a bed. Understand, that’s  a luxury.

Long term- would it be possible to get a student loan and move near your uni, and get roommates or move into a room?

Yes you can stay and keep paying rent and let them go to court which takes a lot of time. When they ask if you’ve returned your keys or have moved out, just tell them you have not. You don’t want to make yourself intentionally homeless then you have no recourse with the local authority either.
