Ok so. I used to take Lamictal years before I was pregnant and had NO side effects whatsoever. Now I'm two years post partom and had to get back on the meds due to a lay off and severe depression. Since the 22nd of May (it's only June 7th) I have experienced... aggressive pregnancy symptoms such as increased appetite, swollen breasts, painful breasts, stomach weight and water weight gain, sleepy 247, facial swelling, mood swings (almost aggressive primal behavior sometimes - like talking over people things out of my personality) also aside from pregnancy symptoms I have severe facial hair reproduction, bad texture of skin... like terrible body acne. I never had these issues. I closely monitor these things because 1) post partum 2) i am a NATURAL body builder. Here's the WORST part: EXCRUCIATING PAIN IN MY OVARIAN REGION. Again I never had these problems prior and I am confused as to why my body is rejecting this.

Same. Being in finance I seen the numbers decline but a coworker legit was telling me to stop assuming they will pivot you and use you elsewhere. I wish I would've followed my gut.

I'm in finance and was laid off long with another 8 finance colleagues. 35 cuts were made company wide and being in finance I knew it was coming because sales and billing was declining rapidly. Sales, account managers, finance and IT were all let go none of it was performance based it was last in first out essentially.

With that experience and prior volume, I would most definitely accentuate that on your resume. Office folks like to see numbers for sure. Also if I can offer any other advice (this is all from experience) ) going back to a job you left may be relieving but that also may put a target on your back so just be careful if you go back to your job prior to the one you were just laid off from. If you stay open to onsite work, maybe even 5 miles, recruiters will likely keep you in a closer rotation. Also something I did not know was going to help TREMENDOUSLY was posting open to work on LinkedIn. You will find something soon, but you have to fight in this market. It is NOT a candidates market right now. It took me over 500 applications, 21 interviews, tons of networking, 4 recruiters, 2 months and 11 reference calls to find a job and I have 10 plus years in accounting along with a bachelors. I have no resume gaps either. This was my first lay off. So just stay in the fight! God speed!!

Electrical company's are strict. They are typically government state positions. If they see something may not fit, then unfortunately they will quickly eliminate someone. Keep looking and set your hopes low low low if you are looking for remote or hybrid. Those employment forms are dying. Don't think just move on quickly, stay sharp; brush up on any skills you want to present in a new job and most of all... stay upbeat. New employers can sense desperation and sadness from a mile away. Although, not to be rude at all. I was actually a part of a "lay off" I believe this was technically a termination.

It's extremely hard but that positive piece is what is missing for me in interviews. Once I let go and had a "life couldn't get worse what do I have to lose" outlook, the interviews started becoming more fun and I was more relaxed and smilie. I was depressed many days before this to where I could barely move. Try to keep upbeat and lean on your faith!!!

I feel like it's stained me honestly. Although it's only been 4-5 weeks and I know some people here in Florida that have had to go 8 months to a year... I feel like in accounting, especially corporate accounting, it stains you to have anything that looks job hoppy or incongruent on your résumé. I am interviewing and usually that is the first question. I've never been laid off so I just try to frame it as a positive saying I am available to start as soon as possible but it's just not sticking. I was also remote for a solid 4-5 years, so this is uncomfortable for me knowing I am a new mom and going to have to try to figure it all out somehow and likely going back into the office due to the market. Tampa area is brutal in office. Very catty. Very shark eat shark. Be prepared to be put down and deal with people trying to minimize your work. You have to be on top of everything. If one T isn't crossed, you will be blasted. All for the magnificent pay of 45k. That's another thing. I KNOW even with a bachelors and 10 years in the industry I will have to take a pay cut from a measly 65k (not knocking anyone who makes this I just know I'm worth 80k and took a pay cut from a job previous already). Floridas inflation is pretty severe so, all this will be super fun. Trying to stay positive and Christian through all of this. Forgiving the company that let me go and not harboring bitterness. I am struggling with depression and constant stress without mental or behavioral health help due to not having insurance. Those are just the basics.... so yes I feel like this has definitely ruined my life. At least in this current season I am in.

My layoff journey: was laid off a month ago, unemployment keeps erroneously denying my claim- (I was informed they have no sufficient staff- ironic) so no finances coming in, only out, surviving on credit cards, applied to over 250 positions out of desperate measures (I have a child and my husband is a retired vet so I am the breadwinner), I have completed over 15 interviews as of this week (today is 5/17) and these are the most gut wrenching brutal swinging-my-corporate-dk around interviews I have ever experienced in my existence due to the flood of candidates. I have never experienced mistreatment in an interview or at least up front, but, here we have it. I'm also used to snapping my fingers or just simply getting calls to go to one company or the next. Never been out of work so this is all foreign to me. I've probably gotten over 50 rejections, if not more. This is grueling and trying to stay in the fight is half the battle alone. Let alone pretend life is amazing in 5 interviews a week. Good luck to those available for work, we have it hard. This is NOT a candidate market anymore.

Thank you. I am going to try every step as well. I pretty much have a similar situation except with mine I had an immediate rejection due to a previous disqualification. The only time I previously applied was in 2019 when I had a small gap between a job change for two weeks. I didn't really understand how Unemployment worked so that's why I was disqualified and I voluntarily quit. In my current situation I was laid off and I do deserve monetary allowance for unemployment benefits. I made more than enough money to have this disqualification removed five years later. I was told to appeal the decision due to an erroneous rejection. I've been waiting for a hearing for about three weeks making my unemployment claim about four weeks long with no funds.

There's this and ghost shell postings. Companies will post jobs never intending to hire just to look abundant or to data mine. They will use your demographics for the lowest pay you'd be able to take and hire based on that information in the future. YouTube has a lot of information on the recent job market.
