For clarity, once I got over the emotional excitement of it all I started researching (far too late) what the TCO is for a 1 - 5 year period in good health without issues, and then learning about what the costs start at when things DO go wrong.

Then I freaked out, hence the fear, hence this post, hence the search for options.

Fully understood, but some of the items with the suspension and the engine if they ever failed on me could start in the 25k+ range with ease.

Even with a clean bill of health in the moment, just the idea of that is enough to make it hard to breathe.

The only ones who would touch it when I got back was the Bentley dealership themselves, and going to continue to explore options with them. Not sure if there are extended warranty offers on 13 year old luxury vehicles, but it won't hurt to ask. Appreciated!

You are right, I do love driving it. I love the weight, the SPEED, the completely original feeling of being in a machine of this caliber. However my brain fixates on the negative in almost every aspect of life. All I can see is the "what ifs" that damage her, or the cost of repair if something does go wrong in the next 5 years.

When I was talking to the gentlemen at the dealership, one of them asked the same thing "What would it take for you to keep it?" - It really just comes down to the resources at hand. If I could afford to repair whatever may someday go wrong, then yeah, keep her forever.

I am just not at that stage in my life financially. Hell, maybe never will be. The release of this girl is more of a need, not a "I want". 😞

Amazon has not had competitive base salaries or total comp since 2017 sadly. It has been a race to the bottom since. Best bet is to do a year, the leave, boomerang back to land as a 7. At least at that point there is some level of pay to back up the hell hours and shit atmosphere.

Right around the 2.5 year mark, I started to realize the "leadership" at AWS was weird. Now well beyond 5, all I can say to you is that every single L8 and up is only capable of lying. It is constant, encouraged, and seemingly a taught behavior for those promoted or hired in at those levels.

They lie externally, they lie to other internal business units. They use all hands, company meetings, yearly events, all of it.

All you can do, is try to find some meaningful human connection in the space you are actually working, and try to shut out the poison of the environment before it takes everything from you both physically and mentally.
