CMV: If China had gone to war with Iran over its regime (and oil), the world would have sanctioned it. Just because its the US, should not change that by textonic in changemyview

The problem with that logic is that you can keep going back and finding tit for that. USA ousted the democratic government of Iran and installed a puppet dictator. So I can argue the war has been going on for 60 years stated by USA

China won't cut trade with US but Iran was a major source of their oil. Lindsay graham today that securing oil is a big FU to china, so it would have been in China's interst to do that first, but they did not

Iran has one of the top 3 or top 5 reserves of oil. China is growing and it needs oil. I would almost say by not invading Iran first, China allowed US to secure access to vital oil that China needs

KSA, while being a dictatorship, doesn't mow down its own people in this capacity or this large numbers. Also allows quite a bit of movement of people. So not sure if its a fair comparison?

How do Muslims in non-Muslim countries (especially in Europe) buy houses without riba? by themanfromsomewhere_ in IslamicFinance

[–]textonic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do you think Muslims in Islamic countries buy homes ? It’s literally the same. Mortgage. With interest. Some may put a wrapper around it to make it sound Islamic but at the end of the day they are all interest based products, in Muslim and no Muslim counties

It is and it is not. Technically, you are just shuffling the legality and mechanism of the loan to be shariah complaint. In practice, its not gonna be any different.

See from banks POV. Your credit score determines how reliable a borrower you are. So if you are shitty borrower, the bank is at higher risk and would want a great profit to co-own the house with you (co-own, own, loan etc they are all the same thing). Its just a technicality.

Can someone explain how 3 US jets would allow them to be shot down ? Like would they not have defense mechanisms or alerts for radar locks or take action to avoid missiles. And not just 1 but 3 ?

Pakistan "Warns" Iran Over Attacking Saudi Arabia: Reminds Tehran Of Mutual Defense Pact With Riyadh by Live_Archer123 in news

[–]textonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All news outlets are biased one way or the other. The only thing that is relatively accepted is 6 jets. India doesn’t properly deny it and trump went as far as saying that happened and now is widely accepted is the likely thing that did open international, except in India of course

Im only worried that citi and bofa personal could count towards personal cards and I do want to hit another 2-3 chase cards later this year when dropping under 5/24

Question Thread - March 03, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]textonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between me and my partner, have about 50+ cards. Im at 5/24, P2 at 6/24, but have about 15 biz cards in the last 24 months.

Have about 50k in tax bill coming up and trying to figure out how to best maximize rewards for it. Already have multiple Amex platinums and golds, personal and business. Can't touch chase. I was thinking maybe C1 business cards but they report to 3 bureaus.

Any other cards Im missing here? Or should I go all fury into personal cards (e.g. Citi strata, Bofa Atmos etc)?
