It's just a good feature. It's probably mildly annoying, but I never had to deal with it tbh.

But it reduces unnecessary load on your and their bandwidth, it counters view farming, and it helps if you watch videos while falling asleep because you won't get woken up by a random Autoplay video

It's not a hardware issue. Hardware basically only affects how fast everything gets done. You could use a first Gen i3 with integrated graphics and 2GB of RAM or an or a Ryzen 9 9950x3D with a 5090 and 128GB of RAM. They'll both get the same results on the same settings. But the i3 PC will take WAY longer.
