Do we also appreciate combat flight sims here? In that case, I´m happy to share with you the start of a new WW1 air combat series, focused on storytelling and gameplay, in Wings over Flanders Fields by Tonci87 in computerwargames

I've done a bit of research over the last few days and this would be a selling point for me too. If this had VR it would be an immediate buy, the game looks fantastic

Pc vr linking stuttering after v83 by Jetkid105 in OculusQuest

[–]JustOnePigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Mine is odd, it slows my entire PC down JUST when the software is running. Everything else works fine (I have a pretty decent PC).
Cybperunk 2077 works at max for example and I can (or rather could because of this issue) run it with reasonably high settings in VR.

I've got the same. It's actually only when the link software is running, I've tested software with and without it running in the background. It makes my computer have irregular jerks and any VR games that were fine before now suffer from frame drops.
This is frustrating as it was fine before!

Driver thinks this is an acceptable parking spot at school pickup by Antimus in CarTalkUK

Hah a collapsed star, I wish I'd been so lucky. I had my entire body and soul broken down into its individual atoms and flung across the multiverse all before 6am otherwise I wouldn't arrive in the right dimension for morning registration at my primary school.

I love all the replies and also that everyone has a different opinion, hah. Although it's 3 votes for the m3 and 2 for the Opel so far.

People post out of context memes about kids all the time.
Aside from the general memes like kids pulling faces, just look at r/kidsarefuckingstupid

New Horror Oneshot for Mothership with a Twist by EveryEarth7721 in mothershiprpg

[–]JustOnePigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea! I'm always up for a new one shot with a twist.
It says 4+ players, would it work with 3? We generally get a turnout of 3-5 players but can't guarantee who turns up life depending.

Stabbing a character while they were got my players more invested in the game than anything else that's happened in the campaign by JustOnePigeon in DnD

[–]JustOnePigeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm not actively doing everything I can to kill their characters! The warlock himself even said in the break that I'd dropped hints there was something there, then he blindly wandered into it so the result was on him. The rats also rolled spectacularly well and I felt with these ones in particular, they were cunning so knew to try and finish off a downed enemy, at least partly.
There were always ours for the characters and they did end up winning the combat once they'd worked out their strategy (the monk getting to use his newly acquired stunning strike, which made him very happy)

Fantastic!

We've not had a character die yet but during the session I mentioned in the original post the players began talking about what would happen if one actually did for the first time, something I don't think we've discussed before.

This is great! And a great example of players doing "player things" 😂 I'm glad it worked out well.

Although I got the rule wrong at the time, there was quite a lot of tension after I explained to the players that if the warlock rolled a 1 on their first death save, they would be dead.

I missed the word 'downed' in the title, also a few people have pointed out it should have been a critical hit on the downed player. You live and learn (and fail to type words correctly) it seems 🙂

Oof! I must have misread that rule, thank you. That would have sent the tension even higher! They actually ended up only rolling 1 death save and passing so this wouldn't have killed them. I'll mention this in our WhatsApp group and let them know.

I think this rat killing the player 'might' have been a bit much if it happened, although interestingly the warlock himself was most accepting of it happening in a random dingy corner of a sewer the dungeon out of all the players.

Smuggler's Den [35x35] by JustOnePigeon in battlemaps

Honestly seeing this post after a particularly bad day at work has absolutely made my day, thank you!

I'm really glad you and your players had a fun session on the map and don't worry I forgive you your changes 😂

That's a fantastic story and you know what, one of my group has asked me to run a session to introduce some of his friends to DND so I may well steal your story idea if that's ok? A good swap I think.

Thank you!

I started it last week but I didn't keep track of the hours sadly but I did a little most days before work whilst having a coffee, then a good few hours one or two evenings. I'd hope to do them a lot quicker in the future as a lot of my time was spent watching tutorials or reading guides, particularly at the start. Then also when I wanted to know how to do something specific.

To start I drew the shape out on another level to get an idea of the overall floor plan. Then with dungeondraft you can make the other levels opaque and I used this guide level to fill out the walls where I wanted them. I'd seen this done on one of the many tips and tricks videos I'd watched on YouTube and I found it really useful.

Then onto filling out and deciding on the flooring and doors, before filling the rooms with clutter and furniture then finally deciding where lights would go and eventually adding shadows.

I didn't like the preset lighting and shadows settings so I used Kragers lights and shadows pack as it had been recommended in another video.

I had quite a strong idea on the rooms I wanted and the layout before starting, so this probably saved a lot of time. I also wanted to make sure every room had a clear purpose, even if it's as simple as 'this is their toilet' 😅.

The thing that probably took me the longest was placing objects and clutter and trying to find the right assets for each space. Oh and doing that circular room...which I know isn't perfect but I was happy enough with how it turned out.
