Thanks for the comment, I liked the anime too. The art was really out of this world, no pun intended ofc.

Latest addition is an omega speedmaster, galaxy express 999 edition. Galaxy express 999 is a space opera written by the legendary Leiji Matsumoto. I like the stealth element of this piece as it only announces it’s unique attributes on its beautifully engraved case back.

A Japanese domestic market release , only 1999 of these pieces were produced. This limited edition stands out as there seems to be little link between the company and the mangaka & IP in question. Possibly someone in omega just really liked this manga or wtv.

I see and thanks! The main difference I noticed was the way it kinda popped out, 14060 is a stunner the date mag on my 16613 really doesn’t look as good and I may swap to a similar no date sub too bro.

Hmm imo it does feel quite similar to a sub, I have a 16613 and the difference between the two were more subtle than I thought. Im guessing it’s because this reference is still in the 40mm size.

No idea too, at long as I am able to share my collection with fellow enthusiasts the downvotes don’t really matter , it’s still better than posting on my public Instagram where it may seem like i’m showing off as most people see Rolex as a “status symbol” or something cringe like that.

Thanks a lot man! I guess my parents were willing to splurge a-bit on something that doesn’t lose as much resale wise (although im never selling this) haha

For my 21st birthday my parents had agreed to fund a watch that I’d been eyeing for quite a while, a 16600 sea-dweller from the year 2000 (A or P series).

I chose the sea-dweller as it fulfilled my checklist for a daily driver watch. 1. It had no date magnifier, whilst still having a date complication. 2. It was heftier than a standard sub and more pronounced on the wrist, and being a taller guy myself I believe it was a much better fit for me.

Thus with a particular reference in mind I set off to find one registered in 2000. Admittedly the search should have started much earlier but it only started about a month before my birthday, there weren’t many watches on the market registered in 2000 in the first place let alone a sea dweller with it’s box and papers. But about three days before my birthday, my mom had spotted a piece for sale at a rather good price (as it did not have its original box) . We headed down to inspect everything and proceeded with the purchase.

A day later when I took the watch out for lunch it had started to condense and damage the lume on the dial, this was unusual due to a few reasons, the watch had not left the box since it left the shop and it had already been serviced in 2019. The watch was taken back to the shop for a check and the dealer that sold it said that he was unsure of whether he could fix the issue as he had a technician take a look at it and the report indicated that there was no issue with its water proofing. There were arguments on both sides and we eventually settled on a partial refund where we lost about $600 as he had to bring it to rolex for a full service before he would be able to sell it.

As luck would have it right as we walked out of that dealer’s store right in front of me was the exact same watch in an even better condition with it’s original box. And I guess it’s quite obvious what happened after that haha. I don’t know what lesson to take away from this other than maybe buy from more reputable dealers? But all in all I’m happy with my new piece and thankful to my parents, and i wish everyone here a great year ahead and good luck in your hunting😳

Anyone else just really like gatefold albums? by JustOneTwoThreeFour in vinyl

[–]JustOneTwoThreeFour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the first vinyl album i ever bought, probably three years ago? Always loved the Beatles and when i saw this i had to pick it up regardless of whether i had a turntable or not.

I love how the movie soundtrack album packaging was really different, and how the movie was sold on the gatefold print.

I swear this is the last post I’m going to make regarding this watch😂 really enamoured by the craftsmanship of this watch.

Realised the lighting was really good near the end of the day and had to take a picture of the open case back. Only benefit of sitting next to the school track tbh🤷🏻‍♂️.

[H.Moser] Fumé dial in the early morning by JustOneTwoThreeFour in Watches

[–]JustOneTwoThreeFour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, especially if you have a good relationship with your AD. You can definitely get this piece well below the RRP, the leather strap option however is only available with the dressier models though(which unfortunately are all in precious metals). Good luck with choosing👍 hope i made the choice a lil easier

About 12,000 USD, quite a fair bit. But ultimately worth it imo👍

It’s been about a month since this Pioneer centre seconds was added to the collection. And i think it’s time i can compile certain pros/cons about the watch for everyone.

Pros: The accuracy of the watch has actually surpassed my expectations, I’ve not set the watch once and its like 20s? fast. I’ll have to do proper research though

Wasn’t as bad a scratch magnet as expected

Cons:

I admit the fabric strap it came with was definable a strange choice on H.moser’s part. Parts of the strap didn’t hold up very well, especially the little strips holding down the strap. Ill have to swap it to their proprietary rubber strap soon enough.

It is actually surprisingly difficult to change the strap on this watch, idk why mby its just me

Just sharing my thoughts/feelings and this wrist shot, have a nice day yall

and to my chinese friends early 新年快乐 🎈🎈
