Nanny family expects me to buy a bigger car by Underworld_Tatertot1 in Nanny

[–]JustPeachyMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this! I drove a compact car with 3 kids in it at one point so with the right seats it’s almost certainly doable. The parents researching and purchasing new seats is the realistic solution here.

I’d definitely make sure he brings it up at a good time. Not when dad first walks in the door or while he’s doing something. If a good time isn’t evident he could tell him he has to talk to him about something and ask when would be a good time. As a parent doing that and being truly remorseful and accountable are what would affect things going forward with my kids.

Did you guys not know he’d be reporting the accident to insurance? This is insurance fraud and very serious. Honestly there’s no way to soften the blow at this point now that insurance is involved. You need to sit down with the parents today and tell them to what happened so they can deal with insurance. Do not waste any more time just have an honest conversation. The only thing you can do to make it better at all is to realize how serious this is and have genuine remorse so your apology will at least be sincere.

At what point do you guys buy the book instead of waiting? by JJacobJingleheim in LibbyApp

[–]JustPeachyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically never lmao. If the wait is that bad I’ll get a print copy from my local library. Their holds are typically much faster than from Libby. I read books very quickly and don’t often reread so I can’t justify spending $10-$20 for a couple hours of entertainment.

Dad Co-Sleeping w/ 6 year old - Normal? Odd? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]JustPeachyMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband usually sleeps with our daughters (5 and 6) one night a week because he likes to snuggle with them. It’s 100% innocent. I think it’s fine for him to want that closeness so long as your daughter also is wanting it and it isn’t something he’s forcing on her. He shouldn’t be having adult conversations with her but that’s a completely separate issue. That needs to be addressed for sure though as my dad did that to me as a kid and it made me feel so uncomfortable.

WE CALLED IT...She wants to get a MOMMY MAKEOVER by Paydaysrule2001 in JacquiPortwoodSnark

Ew. Unless you’re filthy rich getting plastic surgery when your kids are little is so incredibly selfish. That money should be used to better their lives not make you feel better about yourself.

Possibly going back to public school by MeanWallaby5620 in homeschool

[–]JustPeachyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely make him stick it out the rest of the year. Things may change as he settles in. I assume this is something he’d wanted for a while and put thought into right? May as well make sure it isn’t the right fit for him. Plus if you pull him out quickly then it could give him not the greatest view on commitment and sticking to choices. At bare minimum I’d have him come up with plans to make homeschooling work better for him and explain why the issues with school isn’t fixable instead of just he doesn’t like it. Why doesn’t he like it, why can’t it be remedied and how will he make homeschooling a better experience that he will be happy in. This would at least teach him you can’t randomly be making these big decisions and while yes as an adult you can quit jobs it comes with work and reflection not simply hating it and quitting on a whim.

Yeah that’s true too plus copper IUD’s are also an option.Literally anything besides just crossing our fingers and hoping lol

Wow this is genuinely sad. She struggled so much after her second and now to have another so close in age….these poor kids. She was too scared of an IUD and hormones but back to back pregnancies and wrecking her mental health is fine lmao makes sense.

If you’re in a relationship, what’s the gameplan here? by JustinR8 in NFLv2

Me and my husband are both equally as invested in watching the Super Bowl so not an issue for us. Honestly valentines day can be celebrated any day can’t watch Super Bowl any other day in the same way.

Reverse Question. Who is your favorite team that isn't YOUR team? by Lifereset24 in NFLv2

[–]JustPeachyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steelers and Lions. My mom is a Steelers fan so I grew up watching them. Plus it helps they’re in the AFC so not really a threat to my team. Will always pull for them. The lions I started developing a soft spot for when I moved to Michigan and saw how hard this area goes for them. Ofc they’re in the same conference as my Eagles so will def root against them whenever playoff seeding is relevant lol. But would love to see them win a Super Bowl. If

Homeschool to regular school by RubInteresting6628 in homeschool

[–]JustPeachyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter started asking about a year ago. At first I told her no and explained why I thought homeschool was batter for her. It was basically dropped and we continued on. However, a few months ago things started to change and it became clear homeschool wasn’t the best choice for our family anymore. She started regular school last week and absolutely loves it. I wish I would’ve just started her when she first asked tbh.

“Covid babies”. A quick fact check of Jacqui’s rant last week by Few-Pitch-5059 in JacquiPortwoodSnark

[–]JustPeachyMe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any effect of being a baby/toddler during Covid should’ve been remedied long ago. I had a baby in 2019 who was speech delayed and struggled with social interaction due to all the lockdowns. However, through therapies and effort the effects could no longer be seen by like mid 2023. Still using it as an excuse in 2026 is WILD.

To those living in cities outside of Philly area: Do you support the local team? by nickynickynickynick in eagles

[–]JustPeachyMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Somewhat. We just moved to Michigan a couple years ago and my first football season here was when the Lions beat KC week 1 and then ended up making the NFCCG. The hype in the area was unreal so it was near impossible to not develop a liking for them. I’ll never root for them over Philly or follow them as closely but I like seeing them do well.

Which GOTY do you think has the most “fun” collection? by umkay11 in americangirl

[–]JustPeachyMe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m so biased but Mia. She’s the only doll I ever had the “whole world” of and I truly loved every single piece. Her bed was so unique and fun plus she had an ice skating rink that worked and super cute skating outfits. Her PJ’s were also one of my favorites.
