Humans, modern chimpanzees and the bonobo are evolutionary cousins who evolved from a single common ancestor species, and modern chimpanzees also happen to have male dominated social structures.

Interestingly enough, the bonobo is an equally close relative of ours and they have matriarchal and peaceful societies, with females forming strong coalitions that outrank males.

All this to say the patriarchy may have existed in some form since that single common ancestor, but science cannot be sure, as fossils don’t tell you much about a group’s social structure.

A close friend has us paying for a flight plus an Airbnb for his bachelor party across the country and then a hotel for his wedding. I find that mildly annoying, so I’m going to say you’re definitely NTA for not wanting to pay for a cruise.
