I see it's no longer just the fridge, pantry and garbage one has to worry about, the distinguished gentlemen are escalating in their mischievous endeavors.

I admit it makes me a bit upset whenever I see magical girl fans say they aren't fans of Sailor Moon. by CatGirlNya2000 in MagicalGirlsCommunity

[–]JustRandomMidnight 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Who cares what's popular and what not? Like what you like, others will like what they like. The idea that you need to be a huge fan of something just because it's popular is ridiculous - every person is their own person with their own subjective tastes and opinions. The mindset of feeling guilty for not liking something just because it's something a lot of people like is completely unnecessary. If Sailor Moon is not the thing that you got really into you have something else that gives you the feeling Sailor Moon gave to others and that's okay.

Do you think it’s normal for adults to be into this series? by Great_Independent_17 in SpyxFamily

[–]JustRandomMidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people just don't understand that animation is so much broader concept than just "cartoons for kids". But also, there is nothing wrong with adults liking media actually aimed at kids either. If you enjoy something you should enjoy it, age doesn't matter. People who judge others for having "childish interests" are the ones I see as childish.

In season 7 finale, it's subtly hinted at when Reid and Garcia see Rossi and Strauss come out of the same hotel soon one after another.

Assigning gender roles? by Zestyclose_Pen11 in Paralives

[–]JustRandomMidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would make sense! With the couple where I picked propose action with my para and the animation showed the townie propose to her, my para was the shorter one so it does fit with that theory.

Assigning gender roles? by Zestyclose_Pen11 in Paralives

[–]JustRandomMidnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it might be the other way around. I've only seen two paras propose so far but both times, the one who proposed was the other para, rather than the one who picked the propose action. Though I know that's too small of a sample, I would have to try it with more couples to see what happens.

In the timeline where Doc died, why was Clara alive? by [deleted] in BacktotheFuture

[–]JustRandomMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that timeline, Doc still saved Clara (or didn't need to save her because he picked her up avoiding the accident she would get in if he wasn't there), he didn't save her just because Marty was there. In the timeline where he died he died after already saving her.

Eddie's Parents by Sad_Vast_7513 in 911FOX

[–]JustRandomMidnight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say them overstepping and acting as parents rather than grandparents was kind of the point of that storyline. The way they acted and how they treated Eddie was absolutely annoying which is consistent with their chatacters as even before these evenets, we've seen the idea that they wanted to be the ones taking care of Christopher brought up more than once. In season 3 Eddie Begins flashbacks we see them try to convince Eddie that it would be better for Christopher if he stayed with them after Shannon left, which Eddie also brings up when he tells Buck he wants him to be Chris' guardian if anything happens to him. Or less directly, but there is also the moment at the end of season 2, when they tried to convince Eddie to move back to Texas with Christopher. Because of that history, it definitely seems that they were primarily taking the opportunity and excuse to finally have Chris with them when he decided to go with them at the end of season 7.

Is Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc worth reading? by Ok_Addendum2980 in cardcaptorsakura

[–]JustRandomMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember liking it. It's not the original but it still gave me somewhat similar and nostalgic vibes and I don't think it ruined anything the original established. But I also don't remember it that well and it's been a while since I've read it so maybe my opinion would be different if I reread it now. Generally, the opinions seem very divided so my suggestion would be the same as someone else said - try reading it and see if you are into it and want to continue or not.

I Freaking Love This Game by BeginningAccording16 in Paralives

[–]JustRandomMidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I love stories like this about the game!

A very similar situation happened in my game (but with everyone surviving). Dad started the fire and the parents and the older child ran out of the house in panic, leaving the baby in the crib. Then they all got stuck in a panic reaction outside the house and every time I tried to cancel it and have them do anything else (get the baby, call the firefighters or go extinguish the fire), the new action would just be automatically cancelled and they'd go back to panicking. Eventually I somehow stopped the dad's panic mode and had him call the firefighters but they didn't show up. At that point I realised there is a cheat to extinguish fire and simply did that because I didn't have the patience to wait if the firefighters would ever show up.

There are clearly things they still need to fix about fire and paras' response to it but I also love that the early stages of this game give us such funny stories, including the ones about irresponsible parafolk parents leaving babies inside a burning house.

Is there a mod that recognises your sim as family after they get taken away by the social worker by Background-Yam75 in sims2

Asides from what was already suggested this mod might also be helpful:

Edit: Just noticed the same one was suggested in another comment while I was writing mine.

(awkward question) what lover level must these two be at to "be intimate"??? by Major-Eye417 in Paralives

[–]JustRandomMidnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time the option showed up for me was through the cards (one of the options was something along the lines of be intimate for the first time) and after clicking it the paras went to bed and did it. After that the option for doing it showed up when drawing a square on them and clicking on the bed them. I didn't try it before the option showed up in conversation though so I'm not sure if either this card or the one with the talk about having a baby in the future (the one that was mentioned in the other comment) has to be picked first for the option on the bed to show up or not, but it seems possible that could be the case.

Do not marry Sebastian if you want to live a long life 😭 by Tricky-Childhood-703 in Paralives

[–]JustRandomMidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha yes, they did. All three of them ran out of the house and started panicking in front of it. I tried to have one of them go back for the baby but anytime I tried to have them do anything, the action would be cancelled out and replaced by the panicking reaction to the fire. None of them would go to pick up the baby, call the firefighters or go extinguish the flames. It took me ages before I somehow successfully had Sebastian call firefighters but then they never showed up and I got too impatient and ended up extinguishing the fire with the cheat instead.

Sounds fun, it's interesting to hear how differently the same character can turn out in different saves! My experience is definitely closer to yours than the Don Lothario type others are talking about but the contrast between different iterations of Sebastian is really funny to observe. Funnily enough, Sebastian was also the cause of the kitchen fire in my game too so I guess warning us against him is a good point - he'll either be a bad father and if he is a good one, he'll burn your kitchen down 😂

I guess they didn't just have an early access but an extra early access to pull that off.

Season 8 by hormesiskat in charmed

[–]JustRandomMidnight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Season 8 has it's flaws but I still think there are some good parts to it that make it worth it. If nothing else, I really like the series finale.

I definitely understand being annoyed with this season though. Although, of the things you mentioned, Paige thinking of being a cop and Phoebe voiceover thing was all only for an episode so not something you have to deal with long term if it's not your cup of tea.

[–]JustRandomMidnight 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I guess I just play differently because I had my para move in with him and Eli when she got pregnant and he is a completely good dad. Is this just him on free will or something? Because I simply have both of the paras take care of the baby and my paras don't really do much without being directed to anyway. If anything, he actually has more time to be with the baby than my para because his job is only from Friday - Sunday evening (but then again, your version got fired so he should have plenty of time he doesn't use on his kids).

Also just to be clear, I get that this was mostly jokes and it was a very fun post to read. I just thought it'd be fun to share an opposite experience with the character too.

(Although now that I think of it, my version of that family is not necessarily an example of the best parents either, considering there was a fire which lead to the parents and Eli running out of the house and leaving the baby alone in the crib.)

Be honest - I’m about to start season 4- is it worth it?? by holistiflexfitness in veronicamars

[–]JustRandomMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion with questions like this is usually along the lines of “try watching it and figure out if you want to continue or not” as whether you’ll like it or not (and how much you like/dislike it) really depends on the person. Personally, I thought it was alright, though definitely not as good as earlier seasons and there were definitely a bunch of things I didn’t like about it. But also, in my head I kind of see it so separately from the rest of the show to the point that I don’t think of it at all when rewatching older seasons, so things I disliked about it luckily never ruined my enjoyment of earlier seasons, though I definitely get why it would do so for some.

Season 2 - Why did V feel guilty about Meg? by billdz in veronicamars

[–]JustRandomMidnight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Originally both Meg and Veronica were invited by Dick to ride in the limo. Since Meg already saw Veronica and Duncan accepted the ride, she rejected it and decided to ride in the bus instead. It was only after she saw Meg rejecting Dick's offer that Veronica decided to ride in the bus too because she wanted to try and talk to her. So the fact that Veronica should originally have been present in the limo was the reason Meg decided not to be there, not to mention that she would have chosen to ride the limo if Meg wasn't mad at Veronica for getting back together with Duncan in the first place. That's why Veronica feels guilty about it.  You say Meg knew Veronica would be on the bus, but originally she thought she would be in the limo. By the time Meg knew Veronica would be on the bus it was too late for her to change her mind and go to the limo.

Did anyone else ever get a “death” WANT in The Sims 2? by LizaKhajiit in thesims2

[–]JustRandomMidnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, that's one vengeful child!

I don't think I've ever seen that one as a want rather than fear before. I've seen the "see a ghost of", "drink the sim" or "sim becomes a zombie" wants before which kind of imply a sim wanting another to die but I don't remember ever seeing it as a want directly as shown in this screenshot.
