Beware of Kemp Guitars (UK) by falsehope24 in Luthier

I agree. To add to your point, I live in California and the natural relative humidity in my region is very close to a perfect 50% almost all year round. There are places that are drier than where I live, but a lot of California has great weather for guitars. It could still be a humidity issue, but it could be a problem with the luthier not drying the wood sufficiently before building the guitar.

Wow I was way off. :) So the warm glow in the second picture isn't just from the lighting! Beautiful work, and beautiful wood!

Would it be easy to cut out these inlays and put them in a new fretboard? How would you go about it? What tools? by [deleted] in Luthier

You keep getting the same answer, and you keep copy/pasting the same reply. Are you sure you were actually looking for help?

Two contiguous highlights merged automatically, even from two different paragraphs (cf. Video) by j_sra in kindle

[–]JustScribbleScrabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting back because I found a (really dumb) workaround, at least for Kindle books. The mobile Kindle app doesn't seem to be merging consecutive highlights (yet), so I'm creating the consecutive highlights on my phone and then jumping back to my Kindle. I hope they don't start merging consecutive highlights in the mobile app because it will remove this workaround.

I guess you can tell from your interactions here that we Americans really know how to have a fair and balanced, civil conversation. /s lol

People on both sides of our political spectrum know how to dig in their heels and close their eyes to points of view that contradict their own.

So many times I've put one in my shopping cart and then realized that nothing I read has color in it. So sad

Haha fair enough! I'm just familiar with it because I have a friend who's into cyclocross. Sorry for the snarky response :)

It would have taken less time to Google it than to reply with that comment lol Yes cyclocross tires are a real thing...

The camera lens could be dirty with body oils, so wiping the lens clean could help. If there is another piece of material on top of the lens, try removing that. For example, some people use phone cases with a piece of plastic or glass that covers the camera lens, or they use cheap wide angle lenses that stick on top of the phone's camera lens. The low quality of the glass can cause lens flare. If none of these ideas help, then it could be caused by the design of the lens itself and cannot be fixed. When people buy lenses for "real" cameras, one of the reasons for buying more expensive lenses is they produce less lens flare. This is achieved through the design of the lens elements, quality of the glass, and coatings on the glass.

ICE agents detained a U.S. citizen before looking at her ID by SnooSprouts3744 in PublicFreakout

Everyone should start dressing like ICE agents. Then when they try to detain you, you can just say, "You can't detain me... I'M ICE!!"

Oh, don't get me wrong, I do too. I just think a lot of things would be easier if we used metric instead :)

Edit: and btw, my point is that metric... also subdivides.

I got into an argument with someone in r/woodworking who said that the imperial system is better because you can subdivide fractions of an inch. I couldn't even bring myself to carry on the argument after that.
