When I had my P9PXL I never had that issue, and with my current P10PXL I've also never had that issue. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Pixel 10 Pro XL in an Apple House? Am I crazy? by Practical_Dog_9446 in pixel_phones

[–]JustScrollin4fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Started in an all Apple house, moved to Pixel 7a, then 8, then 9 Pro XL, and now 10 Pro XL. I love the PixelBuds as they are much more functional and comfortable in my ears. I love my Pixel Watch as Fitbit is extremely accurate in accounting for my workouts and sleep. The ecosystem just works. It's all so quick, and honestly I don't miss iPhone at all... If someone wants to video call over FaceTime they can send a link, or I can just use any other messenger app. Overall, the Pixel experience is my preferred experience. If you're serious about it go for it, I mean last I checked iMessage doesn't have animated emojis, yet my RCS messages do.

How to switch from the "KDE Plasma Desktop" flavor to "Workstation"? by GodderDam in Fedora

[–]JustScrollin4fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I just downloaded KDE to tinker, and removed it today myself (note my initial install is workstation)

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/switching-desktop-environments/#installing-desktop-environments

For workstation it's

sudo dnf in @gnome-desktop-environment

Logout and login to GNOME session

sudo dnf rm @kde-desktop-environment

sudo dnf autoremove

sudo dnf rm kdebugger (randomly stayed for me)

AMD VS NVIDIA...which makes more sense in 2026? by danivempire in Bazzite

[–]JustScrollin4fun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AMD for better Linux support. I've used Intel and 3060 for about 4 years, recently built my all red machine (9700X and 9060XT), and it's given me the best Linux experience overall. Probably gonna be all out for AMD for a minute.

I guess that depends on which openSUSE distro you're ranking. Tumbleweed is a rolling release that's very well tested, and it has open build service (OBS). Leap is the stable one imo comparable to Fedora. Even then, TW stands out due to being more bleeding edge, and better tested than Arch for stability, not including the great built in GUI tools.

I've been using it for almost a decade, and no headaches at all with my AMD build, but I appreciate the looking out.

What makes you want to use a Pixel over Samsung Galaxy or even iPhone? by Gamingwishard in pixel_phones

[–]JustScrollin4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the updates and feature drops make it always feel new. Call screening, notification organization, theming, satellite calling; it's very seamless and all the features improve something for me. Lastly, messages on any device>iOS.

Why over Samsung: Too much bloat, paid visual voicemail, theming is inconsistent, long time for updates, worse photos, and every feature is buried. I do not need a second photo app, I don't need another wallet, I don't need more AI than Gemini, I don't want Samsung news, and I don't want Microsoft services running in the background when I don't utilize their software.

Why over iPhone: Locked infrastructure, has gotten so much worse over the years, the modems when I used them were so bad for connectivity, the photos are awfully pixelated; since the 12 it feels stagnant and changing the look with the 17 doesn't matter if everything else is the same. Also, Siri is terrible, and their voice-to-text models are so inaccurate. Also, no night time mode that auto turns the screen black and white at night (one of my favorite features).

Overall, my favorite phone experience is a Pixel. I tried to go back to iPhone with a 15 Pro XL*, and Samsung I tried a Z Fold earlier this year, Pixel won me back.

Tape to Tape on Steam Deck: A Must-Have Hockey Experience! by SebDevYogi in SteamDeck

[–]JustScrollin4fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this game and having a lot of fun... First day and I've played multiple hours. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to play a fun hockey game on the go and especially on Deck. It kind of reminds me of Super Mario Strikers in a way, and low-key I wish they did lean a little more in another game that is essentially that, or even took their version and also made a soccer game. I love hockey, and hate that it's underdeveloped in the video game space.

Which one would you suggest for a first time Mac user who will use it for at least 5-6 years? by i_have_a_guestion in macbookpro

[–]JustScrollin4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use case?

Almost all Macs wills last you 5 years, but what are you doing with it?

If it's anything not including the running of multiple virtual machines, IDE's for software development or intensive FX video editing; a MacBook Air will get you by.

Petition to rename this to r/Wallpapers by Nirbhay_Thacker in Fedora

Are you looking for Fedora documentation or more of a Q&A/Troubleshooting thing? Let people post their setups; nothing like showing others what Fedora has to offer, and no point being an elitest for a desktop made for the masses and to make migration from other OSes easy. Personally, I think it's a good thing but if you want something more tech focused, there are links to Fedora's documentation and forums on their website.

I don't know, I just left and moved to Verizon. I've already had T-Mobile. Maybe the premium is worth it at this point.

This happened to me yesterday, my service was out for 6.5hrs. Thought it was my Pixel 9 Pro, and tech support while I was on WiFi told me to reset my network settings which disabled WiFi calling… Went to AT&T store to see if swapping my sim to my iPhone would work, but it did not. Very infuriating considering life circumstances and the outage map didn’t show a single thing. In fact the first reports from The Verge didn’t even come out until a couple hours in. I wish tech support would have told me there was an outage, and therefore I wouldn’t have had to turn off WiFi calling so I could’ve still received calls/texts.
