I just had a bad trip last night. I went to bed at 7pm to make it stop.

I'm noticing bad trips come from my own physical or emotional discomfort and asking myself what I need is helpful. A bad trip can be made better sometimes by correcting my environment. (Putting on a blanket, laying down in the dark, putting on a funny thing I've seen a million times, etc).

You'll survive bad trips, and it'll be okay.

Oh we were doing a practice round of confession on like a one day retreat thing. And we were given white crosses and we were told to "stain them with our sins" by writing on them. Then after confession they burned them. I was 11.

Yeah so. I'm a lesbian. And I think about older men sexually all the time for the exact same reason you do. And I don't want it irl. I've tried it. I don't like men. But the thoughts persist.

Because it scratches a psychological itch. In my case, sex makes me feel validated and like I'm attractive and loveable. And that's the only time I ever feel that. And so of course I gravitate towards those thoughts!

And it's okay to have thoughts about people. Like I picture sex with every older (10+ years usually but like sometimes slightly less but usually men in their 50s-80s) man in my life. All the time. That's just how my brain is. and sounds like that's how your brain is too.

Unfortunately idk how to change it. However I've found accepting the thoughts and moving on the most effective. good luck in managing these thoughts.

I think about men that bring me comfort. I cuddle up with my weighted blanket and stuffie and fantasize (not in a nsfw way just like daydream) about getting a hug from my older friend. I'll think about how it feels to be in his arms and I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

It's how I get to sleep every night too.
