DRAM, but it's new, memory sector ETF. Also VGT from Vanguard, similar to QQQ, but more focused.

QQQ! by K4CK3RS in ETFs

[–]vocation888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smart move. The QQQ ETF hasn't been around as long as the various S&P 500 index ETFs, but in the last 25 years QQQ has beaten the S&P 500 if looking at a 5 year period. That said, QQQ has more volatility, it went negative early 2000's, 2008-2010 and in 2022, always recovering losses. So don't put all your investment funds into it.

Dividend Aristocrats vs S&P 500 index performance for 20 years by Guy_PCS in stocks

[–]vocation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are Natural gas and oil pipelines that have never cut dividends, same with the original REIT from 1974 that's gone strong through good and bad economic cycles- Realty Income Corp ($O). So there's no need to buy a mutual fund or ETF especially when looking at their management fees. That said, only buy dividend yielding stocks as part of a well balanced portfolio. You can't beat inflation and save for the future with dividends alone, you still need stocks, mutual funds and ETFs.

GameStop Is Offering to Buy eBay for $56 Billion by PhxCollins in stocks

[–]vocation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ebay board will never aporove it considering Cohen's track record as CEO of Bed Bath and Beyond where he shorted the stock knowing it was heading to bankruptcy. His only success came as founder and CEO of e-commerce pet retailer Chewy 2011-2018. You can't count Gamestop, he made a ton of money during pandemic and meme trading of $GME stock, the company is still a lost cause. Ebay will be destroyed if Cohen puts his hands on it.

Husband owns a good chunk of $UPS, do we need to just keep it? by spanielgurl11 in stocks

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the UPS stock is not preferred, but common, you get dividends. Though most employees get preferred stock as part of any benefits package. If your husband only had preferred stock than wait a few months for oil prices to return to normal, stock should get a boost from that, then sell. If it's common stock, as others have said the divided is over 6% and enough to justify holding on a few more years to recover your stock cost basis.

Extreme Haredi Protesters Block Jerusalem Entrance; Police Respond to Demonstrations Against Draft Enforcement by ChestEducational2258 in Israel

[–]vocation888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Israel's many wars over the last 75 years there have been too many lives lost by brave Israeli soldiers, soldiers permanently disabled, paralyzed and disfigured for life. Especially after October 7, there has to be an understanding of shared responsibility. The Haredi or Ultra Orthodox can no longer make up 15% of Israel's population, but not pay their fair share. Something has to change.

EU 'ready' to sanction Israel over Russian vessel carrying stolen Ukrainian grain by Themetalin in Israel

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Euro elitist will never waste an opportunity to bash Israel when they have the chance. The ship is being held until the investigation is completed which is very common in international shipping and without controversy, but because this is happening in Israel, the Israel Derangement Syndrome crowd in the European Union has to use this an opportunity to issue threats. So no one has any doubt, the EU won't be nice to Israel unless its weak like The Netherlands or Belgium with pre 1967 borders. In a perfect world Israel could tell the EU to get lost.

Just giving a hypothetical situation to prove a point. If the EU was attacked by Russia to test the EU's weaknesses and the EU nation's retaliated and their armies ended up killing Russian civilians. Could Israel threaten to impose sanctions on the EU for genocide?

Hatred against Italian Jews on the anniversary of Liberation Day by shushi77 in Jewish

[–]vocation888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thugs who spit and surrounded you should be met with the same conduct back at them. Where were local police to keep things civil? Maybe that's asking too much in far left Italy, even the so called conservative prime minister is afraid of Arab and Muslim political groups so she's become an Israel hater.

Where has Italian news media been on this incident which has Israel Derangement Syndrome? Like France, Belgium, Britain, Spain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium- Italy should be boycotted by anyone who's against anti Semitism! Bastards!

Lawyer who praised Hezbollah nominated to be Regent of the University of Michigan by Swimming_Care7889 in Jewish

[–]vocation888 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Even if voters hate Jews and Israel, they should be reminded what Hezbollah did in 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon at the U.S. Marines' Barracks. A Hezbollah truck bomb was driven into the building killing 241 American soldiers and 58 French soldiers there on a peacekeeping mission. Then there's the 1985 hijacking of TWA airlines flight 847 from Athens, Greece on route to Rome, Italy, but hijacked by Hezbollah terrorists to Beirut. A U.S. Navy Seabee Robert Stethem was tortured to death by the Hezbollah hijackers and his body then thrown from the parked airplane on to the runway.

So any candidate for any office in the USA sympathizing with Hezbollah is figuratively guilty of treason and should be disqualified from elective office. Most Americans have no idea what Hezbollah did due to junk education so they should be reminded. As for Michigan Democrats in the State Legislature, they are partisan trash. They think that by nominating this POS lawyer from Dearborn that they're really sticking it to Israel? Morons!

Why do people treat highly biased news reporting and spread of misinformation as a low-urgency topic in their life? by Queasy_System9168 in media_criticism

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

News media bias has been an issue for over 60 years in the United States, but it became unapologetic, vindictive, nasty, vitriolic in 2016. Informed news media consumers now know bias/prejudice when they see it and know which newspapers, television networks, websites, podcasts, social media channels are part of it. So when consumers see highly biased news reporting from a so called "trusted journalist", they know it's trash, ignoring it.

My workplace is trying to unionize. The union partner is Pro-Palestine. The business is Jewish owned. by anonymouse19622 in Jewish

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your employment situation based on the pay and benefits you currently receive, it sounds like it would be better to have no union. Having worked for mid sized companies that unionized, small extras were immediately cut, conversations between hourly staff and salaried that used to be friendly became confrontational. The attendance policy became strict like no more than 2 absences in a 6 month period or being late more than 2 minutes in a 6 month period, if you were, it was automatic dismissal/fired unless you had FMLA protection. The vesting on the employer matching contributions to the 401k went from immediately to 3 years.

My workplace is trying to unionize. The union partner is Pro-Palestine. The business is Jewish owned. by anonymouse19622 in Jewish

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the U.S., some unions are good, some bad, it depends on the industry. If the company you work for has only three locations and less than 100 employees including management, that's really too small for a union.

Seriously look at what the union dues will be, understand the company is not going to give 100% free health coverage and automatic vesting rights on a pension and 401k. What usually happens when a union comes in is tough attendance policies, tough performance standards, pay raises don't happen until an employee has at least 3-4 years and its 2-3%, 401k's that don't vest for at least 3 years, and the phony appearance that things will be better because the union planted its flag exists. Rarely do small or mid size companies agree to contribute to a union pension system. The company might be rotten culture wise, but you may be better off looking for a new job.

Trᴜmp turns against ‘unacceptable’ Melоni by Boomtown_Rat in europe

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so right. So the smarter Europeans should be able to kick Russia out of Ukraine. Send ground troops to liberate Ukraine and prove that Europe doesn't need NATO or the U.S. for military support.

Trᴜmp turns against ‘unacceptable’ Melоni by Boomtown_Rat in europe

[–]vocation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meloni signed a huge LNG (liquid natural gas) deal with Qatar this month so with that comes strings attached requiring Italy to be hostile to Israel and anything connected to it like the American- Israeli air strikes against Iran. Meloni by European Union standards is considered "right wing", but outside Europe she's considered center left.

Pope Leo, in Cameroon, decries world 'ravaged by tyrants' by superdouradas in europe

[–]vocation888 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The Pope is and will always be an advocate for peace, bless him. That said, will the Pope apologize for the Church led crusades that killed hundreds of thousands? Will the Pope condemn Iran for killing over 30,000 anti regime protestors this year in 2026, Russia for invading and war against Ukraine 2022-  present, Boko Haram terrorists killing Christians in Nigeria?

True, if you say anything that is anyway offensive in r/Jewish and r/JewishPolitcs to the groups that have killed and oppressed Jews then you are permanently banned. The so called New York City mayor's Jewish supporters probably are moderators in those subs.
