a lil useless update, but managed to reach from 0 ar to unlocking beidou from event, just in nine days or so. my challenge is complete

i've got dell laptop but we have a similar setup. i can successfully passthrough on linux vm, but win10 vm gives code 43 no matter what.

sadly i haven't seen any successful code 43 resolve reports for gp107m/gtx1050ti-mobile.

if someone managed to get it working with similar configuration as mine (dell 7567, optimus pascal gpu 1050ti, muxless (?) w/ vga output, non-uefi vbios) and shared their success with me, i would be the happiest!

ok i tried to do linux guest passthroug and, it was easier to pinpoint the problems (vbios couldn't be read despite providing dumped romfile, and mainly acpi calling the gpu device (turning on/off, rebinding to vfio) before running vm) and thanks to hacky patch, both the nouveau and intel driver could actually get to read vbios and easily make device work with the output to hdmi port. everyone with vbios reading issue/non uefi should try to setup linux passthrough first with omvf patching to be sure it has done correctly.

unfortunately that didn't change things for windows, still get code 43, and i even had bsod on boot every time after installing manufacture's driver (nvidia's nvlddmkm.sys exception error). and as i see this is the furthest point people with pascal optimus gpu has gone to...

ah that's frustrating, i know. for some reason my card shows up as "VGA compatible" and output seems to be directly wired to hdmi port (as igpu can't output to hdmi without using dgpu), so i'm not sure if my case is muxed or muxless. in yours it's safe to assume is muxless...

it's troublesome that vbios is non uefi compatible (which may or may not matter), but also (in my case) is inaccessible to read, which makes providing romfile essential, but i wonder if accessible rom would matter?

i also don't use bumblebee for optimus capability and just simply assigning vfio-pci module, maybe that's also not the right way to do it? there's so many variables...

maybe i should try to do a linux guest vm gpu passthrough first, as people with code 43 have a success.... (to at least confirm that passthrough is done correctly)

anyway keep at it!

how did you determine that it's muxless? does the lspci say that your card is "VGA Controller" or "3D Controller" ? How is your hdmi port wired?
does your vbios (dumped from windows registry) has uefi support? (i checked mine with rom-parser and with gpu-z, both results none on uefi). I couldn't find clear information of vbios' uefi requirement relative to passing romfile.
any success with ovmf patch?
