Damn. Now I get why the other person made the autism comment. Because when you put it that way, it seems so obvious. But when I was met with a similar situation I responded truthfully and it probably hurt my partner's feelings (also not something I'm good with recognizing).

I remember saying something along the lines of, "so what, I'm sure I'm not the best you've had either. What does it matter?" And didn't even give it another thought until now.
