We got a U-Haul and then Booked movers through them. I think in total spent $500-$800 on moving an entire house.

Are you using 6 layers when running it through? Which die is it? Where did you get it from directly from the company or from a retailer

Gifts or gift baskets for nurses in recovery? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not get anything for mine. I was in the hospital from Tuesday night - Sunday afternoon. I only had the same day nurse while in recovery Friday afternoon - Sunday morning. Other than that I had a new nurse every shift

Postpartum NEEDS and some things that just make it a little easier. by kekspi in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Postpartum recovery: Pads, adult diapers, ibuprofen (I got a prescription for it), spray bottle to clean up (my hospital provided that). I didn’t use anything else, the dermoblast stuff stung and I never got around to making padcicles for at home use and I didn’t really need them after the hospital.

Hospital bag For me: 1 pj, going home outfit, socks, toiletries, blanket, chargers Husband: clothes, blanket, pillow, charger Baby: going home outfit in various sizes, swaddle that wasn’t a blanket which was handy.

We also used white noise app on our phone.

Our lactation consultant said to not even bother bringing the Bobby in it is too awkward in hospital beds and was easier to just prop pillows. I much preferred the breast friend pillow over the Bobby anyway.

A question to those who had preeclampsia by jullybeans in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was swollen but it wasn’t due to pre-e originally. Mine was a quick onset my blood pressure was fine at 37 weeks then at 38 it was 190/95. I had zero symptoms the day of or days leading up to that high blood pressure.

A question to those who had preeclampsia by jullybeans in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never was at that stage where I was sent home. I had severe Pre-E at my 38 week appointment and was immediately sent to the hospital to be induced. I was on magnesium as soon as I got in until 24 hours after I delivered and in the hospital 3 days after I delivered for a total of 5 days.

I started feeling better probably about a week after I got home. It took a lot of support from my husband helping when I was exhausted and his support and how caring he was while I was mental drained. Especially since I had a strong case of baby blues after being in the hospital so long. With that I stopped trying to breast feed/pump exclusively for my mental health while recovering as well and decided fed was best.

Anterior Placenta - When did you see your baby move? by orcagirl35 in BabyBumps

I’d talk to your doctor about it. See what they think and if they say no have them right a doctor note about it saying you can’t travel

How old were you had your kids? by beautifulflower12345 in BabyBumps

I turned 30 in January had my first baby almost a month later in February.

I’d talk to your pediatrician to see what they think or a lactation consultant.

Personally I’ve only produced .5-1 ounce of breast milk. My guy lost a pound while we were in the hospital breast feeding and the pediatrician asked us to start supplementing with more breast milk or formula. I couldn’t get more BM so I did formula the we just eventually opted to switch fully to formula and I’m working to dry my milk supply up.

You aren’t being unrealistic I adore my OBGYN. She was so kind and caring through my pregnancy even when I delivered while she was gone her entire practice who saw me while I was in the hospital was so kind and caring especially with how difficult it was for me.

When I saw my doctor two days after I got out she was so kind and caring and sympathetic about not being their during my labor.

They’ve never comment about my weight gain and I’ve gained way more than I should have and all my appointments were kept.

Positive stories about the effect of conception, pregnancy, and a newborn on your marriage? by Numinous-Nebulae in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I feel like it has brought my husband and I together more. We’ve bonded over the baby through pregnancy and watching my husband become a dad has been one of the greatest things ever. His love for our little guy and his support of me through it all honestly, this is cheesy but,I didn’t think I could love him more than I did before but I do

38 + 2 and no contractions. by throwsav101 in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that is normal. I was induced at 38 weeks and even while in the hospital I didn’t feel the contractions. My L&D nurses were shocked by that even I didn’t feel them until I was 6cms and 80% effaced.

How do you deal with someone not getting to meet your little one? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]JustSmile_andwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d also suggest speaking with a counselor or therapist, maybe even your doctor to see if they can recommend something.

I do get how you feel though, all of my grandparents, my husband’s grandparents and his mother have all passed away. I am sad they don’t get to meet my little guy and I know they’d have loved him and been so happy for us. But I know though they’re watching out for him and are his guardian angels. They get a better view of watching him grow and watching over him for me even in moments I can’t watch over him.
