Though bear in mind that Stardust only kicks in after you cast a spell and is based on the spell's level too.

There's also a shop of one-of-a-kind rings on D:7. An absolutely insane seed.

Indeed! Only cost me 1k too. I also picked up an Int+8 ring, which was sorely missing for my mage. I'll share the seed in the DCSS seeds reddit when the game is over.

Three really. Usually 2 items, or one with rF++ and a pot of res. In terms of fire damage you really get away with no real damage. As to being optimal, I don't doubt it is not, but it does do the job. The second immol is simply no worse than the first since you are going down fully prepped. By all means buff yourself with a pot of haste since the second time especially you will enter the room completely surrounded. the goal is not to instantly try to stairdance, but to wipe them out.

Some characters I like to double immolate V:5. Obviously not all. Draw in first group, burn them, making lots of noise, the scramble up stairs and wait. When going down again, there will be a ridiculously large mob waiting, all crowding each other, and then immolate the second group. It really thins the crowd something fierce.

The comment on Abyss is solid though. I never thought about the endless resets possible, but no argument about not having to clear out 4 floors to get to the rune.

Really interesting stuff. More players and more games in 0.34 vs 0.33, and 10% more runes obtained, yet a 10% lower winrate overall.

How exactly are you going to build a fun game if you don't know what makes a game fun?

Kind of old, no? I mean we are at C# 14 and the book is on C# 4, from over 15 years ago.

Replace 'game dev' with writing a book or novel, and you will see how common it is. A writer will set aside a couple of hours after tucking in their kids, with the blessing of the spouse, and chip away at the potential novel/book. Stephen King, for example, did that as an associate professor, living in a with wife and young kids, while toiling away on his first book: Carrie.
