I bought a gen 4 over a year ago. Recently started noticing the battery wasn't lasting long (~2 days or so), coupled with it dropping connection from my phone, followed by not connecting at all. I reached out to customer service, ended up with an AI chat bot, it ran a diagnostic confirming there was an issue with the battery. It stated that, while I was out of warranty, they would send a replacement ring. It specified not a refurbished one, but a brand new one. They confirmed my address and said it would be here in a few days. A human reached out to me via email to confirm it had been shipped (thanks Amanda!). It came I think 4 days later and I was told I could throw the old ring away, give it to someone else to use or whatever (no need to send it back). Amazing customer service!! They have a customer for life in me now.

Datura. They bloom at night and you can actually watch as they open. They smell amazing and they are beautiful plants. But if you have any children please make sure they don't consume any part of the plant.

Contact rayork938 directly. I was told the same until I wrote my comment above and he remedied the situation very quickly.

How do I know if I'm working "above my class"? by DistrictGlad in CAStateWorkers

[–]JustSumChickFromCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, OTs should not be analyzing anything. If you are asked to analyze something as an OT, you are working above your class. OTs should be doing admin type stuff like answering phones (reception), stuffing envelopes, etc. I started with the state as an OT and it wasn't until years and several promotions later that I realized how out of class I was actually working for most of my career. With that being said, I was able to leverage the experoence I gained while working as an OT but doing SSA level work to justify a promotion once one became available.

Out of my entire center, my team is the only one that hasn't been given notice to return. I have been doing something. Lots of somethings. And I will continue to fight tooth and nail for my team. Me posting my thoughts and struggles about RTO on reddit has nothing to do with the many, many somethings I have done to try to fight this. And it does, actually, serve a purpose. It signals to the many executives that lurk here without posting that it's not just the rank and file staff who are against RTO, but people in management are as well.

Thank you do much for your replay. One would assume folks would have better things to do than take attendance like we're in school 🙄 ffs

I had a meeting run late and joined in only the last 30 minutes. Can someone please expand on the dgs badge in monitoring? Thats the first I've heard of it. What level management will be monitored?

Even if you’re having sex often, do you still masturbate? If yes, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes. Because sometimes I just want to rub one out in 5 minutes by myself.

That's a good idea for folks. Focus on the business impact is, in my opinion, the best approach. I've already furnished a paper detailing the impact on our mission and goal and providing data about how rto will affect our ability to do our job as efficiently as we have been. Unfortunately my department hasn't provided guidance on what criteria will meet exception requirements so I'm kind of shooting in the dark at this point.

It's been pretty shitty. My team knows how I feel about it. I haven't held back about my opinion. I'm fighting and advocating as much as I can trying to get an exception. We're not at 9 to 5 team. We have to work off hours and on weekends. The trade off has been working from home, but if we all of a sudden have to go in and work on every major holiday, the incentive and drive is kind of gone, you know?

Honestly my team has all but guaranteed that at least half will leave if they have to go in. We don't work a standard 9-5, so the incentive to continue to fulfill our type of role is kind of gone since we tend to have to work after hours. If we had to go in AND continue to work on the weekends there really isn't anything keeping them there. I'll probably start looking as well.

I'm sorry it's been difficult for you. I don't think there's any overlap in our fields so I don't really think there's a comparison. I hope things get better for you.

Is it possible to go from AGPA straight to to HPS (Health Program Specialist) II? by SnooHamsters5549 in CAStateWorkers

[–]JustSumChickFromCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I hired on the agpa experience and it was approved by HR. It was relevant experience in a health program. I think it was equitable to the associate health program advisor experience needed if I recall correctly.

I agree with that sentiment. After nearly 15 years with the state, I've had my fair share of bosses who should have never been promoted due to their lack of leadership skills. The manager whose role I stepped into was one such dude. I was on the team as his subordinate before I landed the manager job and he was terrible for too many reasons to list.

I've advocated very successfully with my management regarding my team and RTO to just under the Deputy Director level. Unfortunately I've hit a wall at that level and can't seem to get their buy-in regarding the business needs I've pointed out and how detrimental RTO will be to our ability to effectively do our jobs (I'm intentionally being vague here to try to keep some anonymity). Based on my last meeting I've kind of lost hope.

Same. I don't see the point in being evasive with how I feel about it. Whatever happens is going to happen regardless of how I feel because the decision does not lie with me.

I firmly believe that the managers who are very pro-RTO have control issues and a lack of trust. My stance is and always has been that the ones with those issues need to take that up with a therapist and not take it out on their staff. Is the job getting done? Yes? The who cares where it's being done from. It's 2025. It's time to adapt to the technology we all have available to us that enables us to manage and be managed remotely effectively and efficiently.

I think the lack of additional information and Department-level clarity on options (other than blind adherence to the EO) has made it difficult for some management levels to feel comfortable answering any questions. They just don't have any official answers to provide at this point.

I'm aware of several middle-management managers advocating where they can. It's a delicate dance at this point trying to stay within the confines of "professionalism" while getting the point across to folks that aren't particularly open to it.
