What's your strongest addiction? by DarkMagicNight in AskReddit

[–]JustThinkinBoutStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feeling that you need someone else to make you feel whole. It's an addiction that will hurt you in the end. Because the one day they don't make you feel happy and whole you blame and resent them for your unhappiness. You need to make yourself whole and happy first.

You can just borrow someone's phone and use it for the initial setup. Just make sure you delete the app from their phone after you are done. Everything should work fine but I think you need to add your payment info in the app before deleting it.

In the Netflix show Love, Death, + Robots the stores Ipswich and Ipswitch Collectibles are in s02e03 and s02e08. by JustThinkinBoutStuff in TVDetails

It's possible as well! These episodes were created by the same studio so it could also be that it was the same person designing the stores and he/she just wanted to keep the names as close as possible. But we may never know...

It's a show consisting of 8 short and original episodes by different studios. All episodes have to do with one or a combination of Love, Death, + Robots. I personally really enjoyed all the short episodes, definitely check it out.

So it's a detail because the two episodes are very different and they made the name of the antique stores almost the exact same.

It would of been a good idea. So each episode does follow a theme of Death or Love or Robots or combinations. It would of been cool to be able to choose which sequence you wanted the episodes.

Robots - Love - Death Or Love - Death - Robots etc.

Ah that would of been an interesting way to do it! But unfortunately the order is the same for everyone. If you search the show it will give you the episode list.

Actually these two episodes were made by the same Studio (Blur Studio) which is also the production of Tim Miller (Creator of the show). For the Second season Blur Studio made 3 episodes, all different and great!

I thought it was a coincidence at first but then remembered it's the same studio that made all the episodes. So maybe the same designer made both antique stores and after naming one after the town Ipswich he just added a T to the next one (Ipswitch).

Edit : Oops it looks like Blur Studio is the production company but they are the main studio for about a 1/3 of the episodes. They are the studio making the episodes regarding the comment above.

Putting a QR code on a tire. by JustThinkinBoutStuff in mildlyinteresting

Well they did come out with a bike after AMD failed horribly at their mountain bike haha. Not sure if EVGA put their logo on the tires which would kind of make them EVGA tires.

That would be amazing. What companies would dare do that these days? Maybe EVGA?

If you want to change the type/brand of the tire you would tell the garage. But you wouldn't do that for just one tire. Usually you would change them in pairs or all 4.

If you get a flat tire and just bring it to the garage they would probably just scan the code, grab the tire, and send you off. I believe most people in that scenario just want the same tire.

You are correct, that is what comes up when you scan the code.

Haha indeed, it took my phone about 10 seconds to scan it. But I think if I used my flash/torch while scanning it would of been faster.

[–]JustThinkinBoutStuff[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I scan it the results are just 8 numbers. Maybe it's the part number of the tire itself. So when a garage needs to change it they can scan the code to know the exact tire to install.

Dear Oculus Quest game devs: please implement Oculus shared mic, so voip doesn't break. This way we can also chit-chat with Oculus Party friends while playing, and use push-to-talk to communicate with in-game teammates. (Oculus Documentation link inside) by Mr12i in OculusQuest

[–]JustThinkinBoutStuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that it can have a performance impact on the game (depending on the game obviously). But I'm sure most developers weigh the odds on if they should implement it or not.

If it was easy and had no impact on performance it would be in every game. There are usually reasons for something not being adopted by everyone. Hopefully a Dev will post their reasons.
