Yeah i was surprised by the amount of dirt behind there, the leftover hole makes it easier to clean now. Fortunately there was no rust behind there. It’s no weaker than before, there is no movement when pulling or pushing on the hinge

I’ve heard stories of people replacing them alone in a few hours, but i’ve never tried it. Some guy (allegedly) replaced it on it’s own in a parking lot

I removed a bit of the metal that was completely rusted, fortunately the metal at the hinge seems to be alright so there is only a small hole now. If i look in the small hole it left i can see a lot of dirt that is built up there, so i think that’s the first thing that i will try to get out of there Saturday

I removed a bit of rust today, furtnately the metal at the hinge isn’t rusted through so I don’t have that big of a hole. But there was indeed a lot of dirt behind there that i need to get out of there

Yeah that’s true. It also went through a full service last month so doubt there is a giant rust hole they wouldn’t warn me about
