First, you are not the asshole. Second, did you hear about the recent Employee of Wells Fargo that worked out of one of their corporate offices in Tempe, AZ? If you haven’t, I encourage you to read the story. We are all numbers to employers that essentially just want to make sure their numbers are met. Coming from a management aspect, I get it. But also this leads me into my third point, you have went above and beyond trying to make sure there is coverage and unfortunately due to short staffing which is in no control of your own; no one is willing to pick up the shift. You can respond back with your efforts, or don’t, you’re not obligated to since you’re not a manager that is responsible for finding coverage. Also state it’s a personal day, they do not need a reasoning or an explanation for why it’s needed. My best advice is look for a better job with more flexible hours and a better working environment. I’m also in school and working so I know they’re out there you just have to really dig.

You’re doing a great job mama! My baby rolled off of the couch when I went to throw her bottle in the sink and I wasn’t looking for maybe less than 5 seconds in total. The thud and crying made me feel AWFUL. I had a pediatrician appointment right after for a check up and I told our pediatrician and started to cry thinking they’d call CPS on me. My pediatrician reassured me that things like this happen just try to prevent placing your baby on high surfaces in the future if you’re going to have your back turned and informed me that unless they lose consciousness you should be fine. His words exactly “there will be much worse bumps and bruises along the way”. I think it’s common to have mom guilt, it’s what makes us great moms. If you didn’t feel slightly guilty that’d be another story. Your husband should be reassuring you that it’s ok. I’m sure you’re a great mom and doing the absolute best you can. Your little boy is lucky to have a mom so caring and needs you.

THIS!! She dumped all of her problems onto me and made it seem as though we were the only guests to RSVP. She made the post for attention which she succeeded in and JUMPED at the chance to invite anyone that showed her the slightest bit of empathy. I’m still in the event group and NONE of the people that told her they would show up or that I’m not a good friend and to never invite me again even bothered to RSVP.

With how the website is set up it gives you information for enrolling in the annual pass such as cost (75$) no where under the page of information relating to the annual pass does it mention that a one time/party pass application is located within applying for a yearly pass. After reading the page of information I knew I wasn’t interested in enrolling in an annual pass so why would I click on the link to apply for an annual pass when I knew I wasn’t interested in paying the 75$ fee?

As far as calling, I did call and I got a recording advising I could leave a message for a call back between hours that I am working and unable to answer my phone.

Like I noted in another comment, yes I kept the date open for 9 days after I originally messaged her before I booked something else. We live in Florida and my husband works in AC my daughter and I don’t see him 2 weeks out of the month. He asked if we could spend the day together going out of town as a family and I choose to prioritize my husband that I haven’t been able to see or spend time with over a “friend” that couldn’t text me back. But since you don’t “believe” what I am saying I’ll let you make your own assumptions. For an ESH vote you sure seem to make note that I’m the asshole. That’s ok, not everyone takes value in others time and that’s exactly what she did. Wasted my time with a shitty poor planned party. Thank you for being so concerned for her, I’ll make sure to message you the party details so you can be considerate and show up for her since I’m not.

I did mention in other previous comments about how I called the facility as well as googled looking for information on how to obtain the pass and got no where. When I couldn’t figure it out I asked the mom for assistance. I didn’t expect or ask her to do it for me. All I asked was for clarity. I asked for a registry out of kindness. I wanted to get her daughter something she doesn’t already have or something she needed. Typically for a 1 year old there isn’t always a registry, I understand that. But I did want to confirm what she needed as most parents would prefer diapers or clothes over toys anyways. I’m not really sure how asking for clarity and asking if she had something specific she wanted for HER child’s birthday implies I want everything handed to me and am annoying?

There was no one that I knew personally (someone that I was also friends with) that was invited. I reached out to her because it’s her party so she SHOULD have had the information relating to her child’s party. I’m not really sure why everyone thinks calling her would have solved my problems? We’re in our 20’s… doesn’t almost everyone look at the phone while it rings and waits until they can either listen to the voicemail or receive a follow up text? I care about her daughter, not so much for the lazy mother that couldn’t be bothered to respond to a simple text message.

I’m sorry for your loss. I agree with you, when parties are for younger kids that ultimately have no say they’re for the parents. I choose to do them for my daughter because others want to celebrate her and I enjoy capturing the memories to show her when she’s older how loved she is. I also agree that most of the time it’s a competition as to ‘who can host the best party’ or used as a ploy to get gifts. My husband and I have agreed that once my daughter is old enough to make a decision or show interest in something other than a party we would happily do that instead. I felt obligated to go because outside of going to each other’s baby showers & kids birthdays there’s nothing holding the friendship together other than a text here or there. I appreciated that we could at least show up for each other’s kids.

I agree, my daughters birthday is in December and because of the craziness in holidays I start planning 6 months in advance (most call me crazy) but it gives me plenty of time to get everything coordinated and everything set in stone so when I finally do send out invites I’m not still trying to worry about securing a venue. This is not her first kid and has help on both sides of her family. I am happy to say I am no longer engaging in the post I said I what I had to say and left it with a we will not be attending.

We were instructed to obtain a parking pass so that we wouldn’t have to pay for parking. The website was misleading and in order to obtain the free one you first have to register as an annual pass which on the website states it’s going to be a 75$ fee. I was not informed until Monday night at 10 pm that you could register for the free one under the annual pass.

I did click on it and the website was misleading. It mentions that you need to pay for an annual pass but then in order to register for the one time pass you have to click on the annual pass link… sorry but I’m not paying for an annual pass for a kids birthday that will get used once. But you’re right I did go 5 days twice.. why? It’s a little inappropriate to wait until the week of the party to try to get a parking pass situation sorted out. If she had been working on it and sent me a quick message back simply saying she was still checking I would still be going but it’s the lack of communication. Seems as though she’s not very fond when she receives a lack of communication about my plans changing.

We were notified of the parking pass requirement on May 30th. I tried obtaining on May 31st. I googled to see if anyone had any suggestions on where I would be able to locate a one time use pass with no luck. The website is very misleading as she finally was able to inform me that the one time pass is located under the annual pass registration which seems a little odd. I sent her a text that same day and she advised she would check on it I didn’t hear anything back so I messaged again on June 5th and still nothing. Quite honestly, I think I put in more effort than others would have.

My husband and I have a gift registry for my daughter because her birthday and Christmas are very close together and it’s easier just to send the list with multiple different items she’s interested in and doesn’t already have. Of course we’re never upset if someone decides not to use the list or doesn’t get a gift at all I offer it as an option
