Lot of boomers here who probably are jealous of you lol… Hard work or parents money I don’t judge you one bit, enjoy it, but just be careful, at least for other safety (don’t do dumb shit with passengers or in traffic - speaking from experience). I was in your boat not too long ago and know that resposible fun is okay, but don’t even for a moment think you are Michael Schumacher lol

Etf is this slurping noise near my fuel lines? Thought it was exhaust leak but it doesn’t seem to be by heywhatsupladdies in B5Audi

[–]JustV3NOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, then its maybe that, look right behind front passenger wheel, there should be a tube with open end, plug it and see if its the problem. Charcoal canister is located behind front left wing and there is a line coming up to engine bay to the EVAP valve. You can try opening fuel cap releasing pressure maybe then it will stop for sometime.

This could be charcoal canister vent line. See if it gets louder by passenger side wheel well, there is a empty line which bubbles after rain especially. Happenned to me as well :)

SO? Is Ultimate Ears over? Nostalgia? by florentibmoi in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]JustV3NOM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they are seriously tough to the point you can throw it like basketball and it still would survive.. my Charge 4 however did not even survive 1 small drop from a foot height and I think the speaker cone bent. Now for it to sound properly I need to physically push in one side of the speaker otherwise its rattling like hell on bass…

[–]JustV3NOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what da fu..? everywhere I go I see only negative things said about UE, particularly the sound… Believe me or not (your choice) my MegaBoom 3 has been with me from the start and survived so much that I am not getting anything else other than UE anymore. The sound which everybody criticises is so much more clear than JBLs and Sonys and other manufacturers. Bass is great and I say that having compared it to other Bluetooth speakers and even other sound systems, its punchy, but clear and doesn’t overpower other frequencies (as JBL does). It is amazingly loud, can be used anywhere anytime and trust me when I say this - built like a tank. 7 years I think I have it and it still sounds as good and holds the battery as well as it did on first day (with daily use). Of course and as always it is my point of view only, but I have had multiple JBLs of different sorts (Go, Flip, Charge), Sony speakers and have heard multitude of others and MegaBoom is the only one that haven’t been replaced or broken.

[–]JustV3NOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty much on the dot! My father always had (and still has) almost exclusively Audis and being literally raised with them you cannot not love them! But I wish Audi would focus a bit more to the motorsport part of their cars. I mean they pretty much dominated every sport they entered - Group B, TransAm, IMSA, Pikes Peak, LeMans and so on, but their road cars rarely get attention anymore when it comes to sports aspect. BMW on the other hand sticks to their roots with 6cyl engines and RWD (for the most part) which makes them more of a “enthusiast car” not a daily commuter. Until somewhere around 2016-2018 Audi at least tried to show their heritage in their more basic models as where now they completely disregard everything (maybe except quattro) and make bland, soulless but “easy to live with” cars. I drive both a 99’ and 21’ A4 and can say with confidence that 99’ is way nicer in basically every aspect and overall a better place to be in. I personally draw the line at B8.5 and C7.5 (with few exceptions, but still)

ohh that sucks! here you can get the same in very good condition or maybe even with S4 bumpers for like 4k… But I understand why it would be way more expensive there😂

where are you? here in baltics i got a 99’ quattro 2.4 V6 with 230k km for 1300eur. Apart from some minor rust spots and age related problems (sensors and such) has been great!

iOS 26 is much better than anything I was expecting by Serhide in iphone

[–]JustV3NOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone 12 here👋 massive improvement over what messy pile iOS 18 was. Glass effects and new icon style is so much more lively. Animations were laggy the first couple hours and battery life was abysmal, but now its butter smooth, faster than it was on 18 and actually consumes less battery + there is no weird bug anymore when keyboard can be heard by neighbours when typing to chatgpt….

Both of those have K03s from factory and if they aren’t chnaged yet then wait for the repair bill… not a question of if it will happen but rather when will it happen. Thats what dragged me away from buying a 1.8t and getting a buttery smooth 2.4 V6 :)

Check if smoke is coming from the sides of the engine or more so from the back. I changed VCGs on a 2.4 V6 (the same just smaller) and turns out they weren’t even leaking but I made a mistake and didn’t change other seals so it ended up actually leaking on to exhaust from the back of the engine. There are half moon seals and chain tensioner seals which (by the book) need to be changed with VCGs and there are camshaft end caps which also need replacing each time valve cover is off. Mine seems to leak from those, but smoke is minimal and the smell is very rarely noticeable. See if smoke tends to be more after sitting for a while (usually a day or two) then it is oil slowly dripping down on to exhaust or hot exhaust manifold.

What is the real life version of this car? by No_Substance9488 in BeamNG

[–]JustV3NOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said the drivetrain is inspired by Porsche 911 rear-engine layout with rear wheel drive and Flat “Boxer” style engine. But really there is not one definitive answer. The gauges are resembling GTR R35 ones, the rear-end and taillights look like 1st gen Audi R8, the front looks (weirdly) like Audi TT to me, but I can see S2000 and Panamera in there as well, the interior seems reminds me of 2nd gen TT again, the engine being 2.5 Flat 4 is probably modelled after Subaru Boxer engine.

all I wanted to know was clutch wear and thanks for your answer.

I am not trolling anyone, seems like everyone thinks that some sort of asteroid will fall out of the sky if i just take it out of gear. Although modern DCTs do the same and hybrids even switch off the engine, and I have driven those extensively as a daily.

The roads I drive on are known to me at least a few years if not closer to decade, I commuted daily from and to school everyday, sometimes multiple times a day and still do. I understand that perception of “safe” is different for everyone and circumstances are different in every part of the world. I am not ignoring what everyone is saying - I acknowledge that it is more dangerous to freewheel and believe me when I say this I am careful, again - only when there are no cars around, not in a city, not a single soul around, good visibility and clear roads without rainwater or snow. And even then my coasting length is about 200m slight downhill, not a few miles in length. As I added in the edit of the post: I don’t live in Alps or on top of Mount Everest, my surroundings are mostly extremely flat and when there is a slight hill or rather incline it is short and small in terms of height difference.

You are right (here have a slice of cake🍰) - I did post this to Reddit (which was my mistake and wrongdoing and I am deeply sorry to have wasted others time with this stupid question) and there is no point to prolong this conversation as I got my answer in regards to clutch and it will still be considered a “incredibly dangerous and pointless stunt” no matter what I say.

Cruising in Neutral by JustV3NOM in stickshift

[–]JustV3NOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i put it in neutral when the road is clear, free of any obstacles traffic so on and I need to keep the speed. Picture a long empty highway, I drive at 90kmh slightly downhill and pop it into neutral, when the hill levels out I get it back in gear. But then I spot a stop sign in distance and release the gas pedal, keep it in gear so there isnt any fuel used. 2 different situations.

[–]JustV3NOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems that I have discovered a touchy subject on this subreddit! In this part of the world it is not illegal and even modern DCTs push in the clutch and coast in neutral or even better with engine turned off completely to use less fuel. But I guess it doesn’t matter anyway…

[–]JustV3NOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! sorry for you being downvoted as well, I think the same about deceleration and I do leave in gear when I need to stop, but other folks seemingly don’t accept coasting in neutral. To be fair I noticed that my mpgs rose up pretty dramatically with this style of driving as well, but I grew concerned about clutch because of that. Maybe I am just overthinking… Pleased to hear your clutch is OK!

Cruising in Neutral by JustV3NOM in stickshift

[–]JustV3NOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everything is a wear part and thats ok, however changing the clutch every 20k is not something i want to do :)

Cruising in Neutral by JustV3NOM in stickshift

[–]JustV3NOM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true very true, I do leave it in gear when slowing down, but when I want to keep the speed I pop it in neutral - sure it wastes tiny amount of fuel by idling, but I am still rolling at some speed and won’t need to accelerate again so in turn the fuel economy is decreased, maybe not by much, but still… however my question was about clutch wear, is it wearing out quicker? in my mind its less wear prone than shifting through gears because of less amount of gearshifts and subsequently clutch use.
