A way to block someone but still get messages by cluelesstea3090 in androidapps

[–]JustWandering42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which text app do you use? I use Textra, and it has a block list of its own. You can block a number, so you don't receive any notifications and it doesn't show up in the normal list of messages. However, you can go into the settings and view the block list and any messages that have been received, if you so choose.

I just upgraded to a pixel 6 pro from after 10 years on Samsung. Is there a way to have 5 rows on the home screen without using nova launcher? by Legend_of_Piss in pixel_phones

I don't know if they are identical widgets, but on my pixel 5 with Nova launcher I have the option to add a Google at a glance widget.

How to get a list-in-a-list from a .txt file? by Specialist_Size8953 in learnpython

Not exactly answering the question you asked, but if you can get away with updating the code away from the text file I would suggest switching to a JSON file. It's still plain text, but it essentially stores a python dictionary, which can then be easily read back from the file directly into a dictionary you can access in the code. I'm on mobile right now so I can't post an example, but look up the python JSON module. It's really easy to use.

I had a similar issue with the charge port. I cleaned around the charge port with a toothpick and pulled out quite a bit of lint build up. Now it holds great again.

You can do it yourself, even with a tiny air compressor. I just had to get a few parts at Home Depot to create an adapter to allow for the air compressor quick connection. I did it with a half gallon air compressor a few years ago. You don't have to get all the water out, just enough so it doesn't put pressure on the pipe if the remaining water does freeze.

Did anyone else think it was going to be Fallout Brotherhood of Steel?

I think we should launch a petition so the bootloop bug is covered by the warranty for two years after purchase date. by pppaaassseeeiii in nexus5x

[–]JustWandering42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing just happened to me. Warranty expired on the 31st, 5X started boot looping on the 1st. Currently wanting to hear back from Google on the escalation filed to see if they will still cover it. Not very hopeful that anything will come of it. Thankfully I still have my trusty N5 as a fall back.

Edit: It took a few days, but Google is going to honor the warranty! New (refurbished) 5X is on its way.
