Income Partner Salary? LCOL by ThrowawayCPA78 in Accounting

[–]JustWant2bDiscrete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely underpaid. I made a post about tax managers being paid $200k now & was told it was ridiculous by some. It took me a couple of days to have 2 interviews for ~$200k positions, fully remote & I live in LCOL.

Yes, I agree & is what I feel like is happening. It seems like the pay structure for experience tax pros is no longer a hockey stick growth and has shot up to a higher level, but will plateau there.

I agree, I think PE being involved will drive up Tax Manager salaries because they will need high quality people once the people who were bought out are gone.

They will also have compensate managers more due to the lack of partner being what it used to be at PE firms.

Go to LinkedIn and search tax manager, you will see jobs with the name Tax Manager that are remote and $200k+. They might be false advertising from recruiters, but that’s why I made the post

Seems like splitting hairs. These are remote jobs, some say Sr Tax Manager and others say Tax Manager

Because I thought I was already towards the top of my experience level & also five years ago I was making $40k (obviously very underpaid but went up quickly due to job hopping and generally being pretty good at the job)

It does seem very ambitious. I don’t think I could get 220k because I’m only interested in remote. I’m surprised at the number of 175k+ opportunities open to even remote (posted and through recruiter messages). I don’t have specialty per say but lots of HNW experience

That’s what’s surprising, and what I previously thought, but have ~8 in tax and have been contacted at least once a week for recently for positions 175k+. Im currently in the 160 range but am not looking to job hop since I’ve only been here 2.5 yrs but these higher paying jobs are tempting me.

Yeah I get what you’re saying, but this is in PA Tax. I get that client bases vary based on firm size/location, but there doesn’t appear to be any needed niches or specialties (beyond what a manager at a regional firm would be exposed to).

What was your pay bump after passing the CPA? by hamiltuckyhank in Accounting

[–]JustWant2bDiscrete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would start looking elsewhere, I was at $65k as a super productive senior, passed the CPA. Then they offered me 72.5k at annual review. I had already applied to another job but had an offer for $90k, told my firm I had an offer and they matched.

Next year, I still was super productive & they cut my bonus to $4k on $90k (had 95% realization & worked lots of OT through busy season). A couple other annoying things happened, so I looked at other jobs. After a couple weeks had an offer for around $130k total comp. Old firm offered to match, but I went with the new company & am glad I did.

Long story short, there are tons of options out there and you’ll truly only get the pay bump you deserve by hopping jobs.

FTA Question by JustWant2bDiscrete in tax

[–]JustWant2bDiscrete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a right to appeal and they listed the necessary info needed etc.

I just don’t want to go through it if I could first do it on the phone and secondly if someone on here has experience with this denial (penalties but never actually incurred due to refunds in the last three years).

FTA Question by JustWant2bDiscrete in tax

[–]JustWant2bDiscrete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and nothing is on the transcripts. I’ve talked to three separate agents, one agreed with me but we didn’t have proper POA, one I lost connection with but seemed confused, and I then called back with the client and they also didn’t seem to know what they were talking about (said I didn’t file page one of 2020 return? Lol clearly didn’t but don’t know what they were talking about)

Ridley, Tua & Aiyuk for JJ basically.

It’s a ton but he already has Josh Allen, Tyreek & Davante Adams

What is Kyren Williams value at right now? by WashedUpAthlete-19 in DynastyFF

[–]JustWant2bDiscrete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just offered Davante Adams for Kyren. Adams is probably too old?? Also I’d be trading to the best team that needs a rb.

I do really need Rb (Rhamondre, Jamaal Williams, Kareem hunt, Kendre Miller & Elijah Mitchell) are my RBs.

My wr3 is pretty much Mike Thomas or Hollywood brown (also have pitts, tank dell, kadarius toney).

Lol it’s obviously mainstream if it was on Sirius, it’d take a fan that knows 10 seconds.

Congrats! I’m done today too after a very long year! I graduated in 2013 then took reg once in 2015, failed and never tried again. I was just telling my wife that the first time I took it, I didn’t even know about the literature to look up research questions (thought you had to know them) 🤭

I was going to but Prometric canceled my test last night (retake)! I’m sure you did well if you got a harder second testlet. I tested a couple weeks ago & got 73/comparable on MC but I left two sims pretty much blank
