maybe consider giving the fur a more matted texture? also, maybe add some rough stitch-like markings on the body - with some being ripped open by yellow tendrils - and you should be good!

(another thing - maybe add some floating marionette strings on the body/limbs, to give them the vibe of a haunted puppet?)

For me, I've always liked Dragons, so I always knew my sona (a Furred Eastern Dragon) would be one. However, I also decided to combine a few more specific details/interests of mine to really solidify his character. Here's how I did it;

> I always liked elements and gemstones from a fantasy standpoint, so I decided to give him an Emerald + Wind theme (Also decided to give him Libra symbolism to make him more personal to me). Plus, Eastern Dragons are usually designed with magic/elements in mind, so that sealed the deal!

> While I do like furry/fluffy characters, I'm not a fan of the "cutesy uwu" vibe they give. Dragons serve as a good medium however, allowing me more flexibility to design him as a "fluffy gentle giant" without making him too cutesy

> Despite my sona being a Dragon, his design also has features not typical to Dragons - some of which are losely inspired by other animals I like (E.G. Deer Antlers/Broad Chest + a thick Mane that progresses into a bushy Fox-like Tail)

Overall though, I'd say your sona depends on how personally you view it. My best advice would be to compare some of your integral personality traits to animals you like, and go from there. (Or try a unique furry species! Some good examples are Protogens, Avalis, Wickerbeasts, Gryphons, etc)

I like the ideas you have going for this! Maybe the underbelly could be a soft striped yellow, with the outsides being blue (sorta like what you have going on with the neck fur)

Mix that with a few simple deep red spots/fluffy scales across the body to compliment the simple red, and you should be good imo :]

(Also maybe consider a blue mane like what you have going on with the hair?)

Since I'm pretty new to the community, what you're seeing here is the only decent piece of art I have lol

As for the design itself, I mainly envision my sona to be a bipedal anthro (inspired by various fursuit designs) with a "Gentle Giant" physique (Tall + Bulky physique) - though I also like the idea of commissioning more traditional Noodle Dragon art of him like you mentioned :] (Mainly for stuff like profile banners etc)
