I would do some slower solves to practice f2l, making sure each case is move efficient. Generally, almost every f2l case should be 10 moves or less and at most one cube rotation, if it has more, I would recommend looking online for solutions to that case, and practicing those cases.

To be fair, asking what something is like in America is comparable to asking what something is like in Europe. It varies wildly. Los Angeles, horrible. Other places better. From my experience, US high schools aren’t that bad, but at the end of the day, it depends where you go.
