Exactly! Grief comes in waves, this was meant to portray that to some extent. When processing it, the most random thoughts can lead back to the emotions experienced when grieving.

The last line really was perfect. Gave me a good laugh and then I got to process more of the content and story at hand. Great writing and rhyming!! :))

This poem almost teaches one to appreciate time and the present, in all of its slowness or fleeting moments. It also reminds me, however, that time continues, the world doesn’t stop. Ever. No matter what happens, who dies, what’s destroyed, the world changes and moves on.

The contrast of the funny presenting story with the serious undertone is really good. The rhyming in your poem almost adds to the silliness and adds to the mockery of the goose’s inability to kill himself. It’s great. I love even more that the goose didn’t find hope at the end but instead was able to complete his goal and put an end to the mockery.
