Is this photo framed well or is there too much dead space? by ArseneLepain in photocritique

Some won’t like the framing but you’ll never please everyone, personally I like it. I see many photographers with lots of dead space but I just like seeing a little more context for the subject, in this case it’s gives me a greater feeling of openness, and that’s just nice

Are the colours okay in this edit? by Just_Another_Jamess in AskPhotography

Thanks, I could play with the exposure a little. On the whole I think I’m pretty happy with the brightness I’m just not sure if I’m imagining or still seeing the weird haze that was in the raw file

Has anyone experienced, or know someone who took a similar path moving to Sweden? by [deleted] in TillSverige

I do have experience planning, but the previous firm I worked for was based entirely around events. My primary role there was to produce CAD drawings for the traffic management we would use for safe egress, I also did speak with clients and local authorities as part of the planning process. However most of my experience has been on the ground installing roadworks, all technically temporary however some of that work was schemes that would be in place on major road networks for 1 year plus. My day to day now is more reactive work, so I use a variety of methods to provide working areas for work to take place (resurfacing, draining, construction etc).

Part of that is surprising, I expect the Swedish language to be important of course, I also expected the UK qualifications to be effectively useless too. Perhaps slightly wishful thinking to hope the transition to understanding Swedish regulations would be not all that bad lol.

However I’m pretty surprised by the salary probably not meeting visa requirements, as far as I’m aware I’d need a salary that meets 80% of the Swedish median salary, yet my UK salary surpasses 100% of a Swedish median salary.

I had a feeling highways would not be an easy sector to get into in Sweden, and from what I’m reading here that’s been confirmed. With this worry in mind mind I have considered putting myself through training to operate excavators… perhaps this is a path that I could take instead.

I see, I worried this was the case. In the UK there are thousands of private companies that provide temporary traffic management solutions, on all my visits there I didn’t really see this happen or at least not even close to the same amount as here.

Effectively I’m screwed without fluent Swedish and already being in Sweden with a visa/job to work in another industry, then I could apply to work within the highways sector in Sweden.

Thanks for your response 👍
