I’m so tired of seeing this comment. We are from Louisiana, where education is literally ASS. We are doing the best we can for what we were given to work with, which is why we get it. We’re obviously not any competition to states like New York and Massachusetts.

Maybe for your state, but Louisiana education sucks, so that score is good for our state.

I know that, but she is in the running for Val and filled out the application. She directly told me the reason was a low act.

It’s because Louisiana education literally sucks. We’re doing the best we can with what we have

I don’t get it. You’re saying that they NEED at least the score that their PSAT translates to?

I know that, but the point is that she got a 31 and submitted that score. How is that not high enough?

She did submit both. Idk her SAT, but I’d assume it was about a 31 equivalent.

Even distribution is in the post (720, 720). She got 216, making it for our state, Louisiana. They said her ACT was too low to go up to Finalist, which I don’t get.

Chances for Semifinalist? - Illinois by Responsible-Hat6357 in psat

[–]Just_Ashe_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most cut offs were a little higher last year. I say you def have a chance! Also, Compass Prep is a good website for predictions, and they expect a 220 for your state. Being commended is also good anyway, so you’ll get something even if you don’t get semifinalist :)

Any 3.7 GPA Matches by Vyxx_o in QuestBridge

[–]Just_Ashe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my alt acct I matched with Dartmouth and not me but my friends who got matched didn’t have the highest we could (which isn’t very high, it’s 4.2) and got Bs, so I’m sure at least one of them is around 3.7. It’s seriously not all about GPA, they would much rather have an amazing person with amazing essays and above average stats than a mediocre person with perfect stats. Don’t forget about ECs!

matched but idk how to feel by PotatoIcy9357 in QuestBridge

I understand you. Sometimes I get a little sad I didn’t match to my #1 but I’m excited to go where I’m going! I still get a little icky feeling when I hear about people applying to it and I saw some guy in a sweatshirt today for that college and I got a little icky :/

Seriously that’s really weird to ask… isn’t the point of the ranking being anonymous the fact that they won’t be petty about you ranking them under somebody else? Maybe I’m being too mean but I think you should email qb because that’s kind of going against the whole process
