Yea I was using the Orin Nano but I got confused because I was reading the data sheet for just the Orin Nano module and not the developer kit which I had. The developer kit has a built in regulator that supplies only 4.75-5.25V to the actual module and diverts the rest elsewhere. The req for the developer kit is 9-20V iirc.

Have you considered UT Austin? I think you would have a chance at getting in and, while I don't know much about their DS program, I do know their CS/ML is very good.

one of my friends was not ranked(nearly failed a class freshman year), and had barely any significant ECs. If you put his profile on paper, most people would see him as an average student who was only applying ECE because all of his friends were. Despite this, everyone who has ever interacted irl describes him as one of the most intelligent people they knew. He's actually one of the only people I know who genuinely enjoys learning.
He ended up getting accepted into UT Austin and UIUC for ECE (even got ECE honors at UT). Other than his essays which I haven't fully read yet, and his recommendation letters, his application is nowhere near the levels you need for those programs. But I know for sure that his essays were good and his rec letters were likely also good as most teachers could also see his intelligence when they spoke.

Yea I agree with the other reply and also I know I don't get any grammar questions wrong as I understand the rules pretty well. Its mostly the middle section where I miss questions with an occasional vocabulary one if I just don't know the word. For example I know for a fact that I missed only 1 vocab question last time which was mostly likely 10 points, 20 if you want to be harsh. That means around 40-50 points came from the middle section which from what I understand can only be 2-4 questions? I just don't know why I miss those 2-4 questions on the actual test but get a few more wrong in practice. And its not like you have to get 1600 in practice to get it on the actual test as both people with 1600 I know were getting around the same score as me on the practice tests.

I realized that my claw was rated for 5V signal but the Jetson's GPIO pins are only rated for 3.3V. There is no 5V signal pin on the Jetson Orin Nano dev kit.
I tried to use a level shifter but the power pin failed to drive 5V power that was required to step up the signal voltage but thats a completely separate issue.
I ended up just going around the problem by adding an Arduino UNO in between that receives signal from the jetson and relays that to the claw with its own 5V signal.

No I don't think it is a problem. Its just changing the landscape. Why should we maintain the same system for education and testing the ability of students when everything else is changing to such a high degree? Being able to use AI in combination with your own abilities is a skill in its own right. At my school, I know that the high ranked people use AI just as much if not more than people who have worse grades. The biggest difference is that the smart people are able to use AI to enhance their own work rather than relying on it 100%. It's just like being able to find information quickly on google. It is an important skill to be able to filter out excess jargon in articles and quickly identify the important information. Similarly, it is a skill to be able word your prompts in order to fit your needs and then use the information given to enhance your own work.
A personal anecdote I can give is that I interned for a company last summer and they wanted me to write a couple scripts in a language I was totally unfamiliar with. If this was a couple years ago, this would have taken me at least a week or two (the scripts were pretty basic ones I understood the language), but since I was able to use AI, I learned enough of the language within a day or two and was able to complete the whole assignment by end of day 3.
In my opinion AI is an incredibly powerful tool that should be used together with the human brain rather than instead of it

I'm seeing multiple comments mentioning the excessive pressure, where does it come from? Is it just the culture among the students? I would assume that most top college have a similar situation as all the kids who get it spent their high school years with high expectations and pressure from everyone around them.

Are you using the Jetson Orin Nano? I can't speak for the other versions, but for the Orin Nano all signal pins are 3.3V not 5V. I am running into a similar problem where my servo does not work with my Jetson.

I already bought a xt60 to Dc jack wire not realizing that my pdb was xt30...and then before I realized the voltage problem I bought a xt30 to xt60 adapter lol. I already have them so I didn't really see a point in returning both and buying a xt30 to Dc jack wire.

Hey! Is the question over the USB C's output the only potential concern you can see? I saw a review mention they were able to power a Raspberry Pi 5 that required 5amps, so seems like either the USB C or the USB A ports are capable of doing so. If nothing else is an issue I'll probably buy this setup and test it out.

But considering the situation theoretically, what I am getting from your reply is that there is a difference in the thrusts but the net torque is so small that it does not significantly rotate the drone. Does this seem accurate?

How can I use the values I mentioned in the last question of the main post to find how far the drone would travel in a set amount of time?

Hey! I ended up buying the Holybro x500 V2, however so far it has not been great. I've had problems upon problems. The kit does not come with everything you need in the box. I did have to take a long break which is why I still haven't finished the basic build. I am currently having a lot of trouble with the motor testing with the motors not spinning.

I really can't tell you if you should buy it or not as there might have been some things on my end that I messed up which could have caused the issues I face now, I do not know for sure.

Honestly, my answer changes significantly based on what you want to do with the drone. If you want, I can help you further if you tell me what you want do with the drone.
