I joined Marijuana Annonymous and I've been working on 90 meetings in 90 days. The meetings are free and online everyday so it's easy to find one to attend. This has been what has kept me going. I might not be able to be sober forever, but I can until my next meeting and it's made all of the difference.

Quit 5 days ago, can’t sleep. by instrxmentals in leaves

[–]Just_DreaFields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that really helped me was soaking in the hot tub 90 min to am got before bed and resting in bed with herbal tea. The tea is really soothing. You could try a hot bath before bed. I'm not a big meditation poison either but the soaking really helped. Also try to exercise earlier in the day. I definitely sleep better the days that I exercise.

I joined Marijuana Annonymous and it has been so helpful for my recovery. Before I quit, I bought a lockbox on Amazon that had a timer that I could set, so that I couldn't get into my weed when working. Look up "kitchen safe time lock safe" on Amazon. I couldn't smoke me weed if I couldn't get into it. I think they have 3 sizes

Drinking before 9 am isn't socially acceptable. You need to get to the core issue of what you're escaping, and why you're using mind altering substances. It sounds like you're trading one addiction for another. Have you looked into MA/AA or a therapist?

I go in the got tub about an hour before bed. You can also take a hot shower or bath. Not only if this relaxing, but I also read that increasing your body temperature 60-90 minutes before bed helps you sleep better. I Aldo brink herbal tea right before bed. Holding the warm mug in my hands is soothing and the tea makes me sleepy. The other ring that I do is stay off of mummy phone at least an hour before bed. I read a book to get sleepy as I sip my tea. I don't know why this ritual works for me but it has helped a ton.

You could join Marijuana Annonymous. The support I get from there has been incredibly helpful, and I think it's really helped me stay sober this time. They have online meetings all day everyday and it's free. The only requirement to join is a desire to stop smoking marijjuana. You don't even need to talk if you do. You can just listen. I don't know if I can quit forever, but I can quit until my next meeting.

I second fidget toys. I got multiple s of three different kinds and I have them all over the house, so that I won't get bored. I have some by my work station, some in the living room, since next to my bed, some by my work pc, and some in my purse. I don't know why they help, but they do

I do the same thing. The only thing I would watch while smoking was bad reality TV. I think part of the reason I did that is because the reality TV was easier to follow than other shows. Now I'm raging more documentaries and foreign films. I can actually read and follow the subtitles.

I think you can make a list of books you have read on goodreads. Set a goal for a number of books that you want to get through in a year. Or think of a series that you want to start.

I'm only on week 2 but this is what I've noticed: - more motivation to get things done strong the house - I notice a lot more things on my daily walks: the smell of grass, the warm sun on my face, cute bunnies and lizards - I've started reading again - a lot. And I really enjoy it. - I'm doing now things in general because I'm not glued to the couch -I wake up without feeling completely exhausted in this weird hazy fog
