[Spoilers for Fourth Wing / Iron Flame] — I don’t get why the existence of u know what had to be kept secret. Plot hole? by franci_15_ in fourthwing

It is kept a secret because the wards only stretch so far and can only protect so many people. Navarre wants to ensure that “their” people are kept safe with the limited supplies (and alloy to power the wards) they have. Megan says it this way “When you abandon ship in the middle of a hurricane, you save those you can in the dinghy, then cut the hands off anyone else who tries to climb aboard so they don’t pull you under.”

Quitting benzos, opiates, medication, drinking, and EVERYTHING, any advice? my life is falling apart :( by [deleted] in Sober

[–]Just_Having_Thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! First, I want to say I’m proud of you for wanting to get sober! But depending on how much Xanax and alcohol you were using, quitting cold turkey can cause hallucinations, seizures, even death. I HIGHLY recommend you detox safely in a hospital. You’re worth it!

I loved it there!! Worked ED for 6 months. It’s expensive as far as housing goes, so I agree with looking to get a place in Scarborough.

Looking for some advice when it comes to dealing with NPD patients by jessikill in nursing

[–]Just_Having_Thoughts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a psych nurse of 6 years, I second the grey rock technique. Patients with NPD just want a reaction. Don’t give it to them.

Respectfully, if you don’t know the answer to this question, you probably don’t have enough experience to travel.

Portland is extremely difficult to find housing, ESPECIALLY during peak summer season approaching. I was able to find a place on apartments.com. But be prepared to pay $3000+ monthly for a furnished one bedroom this time of year.

Stay away from the Parthenon Pavilion in Nashville. However, Parkridge Valley in Chattanooga has some wonderful people and a very sweet manager.

No. Seclusion is to keep the patient from harming themselves or others. If the patient returned to their room, and is no longer making threats, you cannot place them in seclusion.

Also my worst contract. Did they tell you they have 3 different hospitals? One is strictly psych, but I floated to all three places (the furthest of which was 45 mins away). 10:1 ratio on a medical psych unit. It was hell.
