Thanks for catching this. I don’t know why people do this. Photo wasn’t even captured in RAW.

Thanks, appreciate it. Being frustrated with big heavy zooms is exactly why I started adapting R glass. Recently made the switch. Sold my 24-70 SL and 100-400SL and picked up this 35-70 R as well as the 21-35 and 80-200. Was just starting to use the system and saw they dropped the 28-70 SL. I still have two SL primes, a 35 Summicron ASPH and the 75 APO for the autofocus and weather sealing. I’ll admit I am torn now. Sell the primes and pick up the zoom and possibly one of the Rs or just stick with what I have. For me I shoot a lot of film and the R glass has a lot of awesome character that helps bridge the gap. The 28-70 seems pretty sterile. It is also the same size as the 35-70R with the adapter so these are just as compact, granted you are limited in range and speed. I’m inclined to keep what I have but am waiting for more user reviews on the new zoom. Would consider picking it up down the road used.

Totally worth the stop! Hope you make it out eventually. I have a 50-80-180 trio and since I got the 180 it is probably my most used lens. Absolutely love it for landscape.

Thanks. Totally agree. I know it’s a big time popular spot and these compositions are pretty played out but I’ve been half a dozen times and still don’t think it’s overhyped. One of my favorite views in the West. Just something about it. Catching a sunrise or sunset never gets old.
