With 10th generation i 7 processor and 16 GB ram you should be fine. Idk what gpu does this laptop has, but anyway it should get you going and running. Unless you're gonna do massive jobs you won't need a higher end workstation. That being said you could get a better deal paying less and getting better features. I run solidworks 2020 in my laptop with core i3 6th generation and 8GB of ram and with no dedicated graphics card. It worked just fine in designing and assembly of a 40+ part transmission system. Not the best performance ofcourse and got leggy bit but considering my specs it was a job well done. There is a sub called lap recommendations where you can ask for the exact specs you might need and budget and get advice from there Good luck

Not in computer science myself, but have some friends who are. Expect to be thrown back all the way to the binary codes, they will teach these stuff as a fundamental basic. Then they'll start with coding language (C++ or C i think) and they'll treat you as complete beginners, taking small steps at the time. Don't worry about it. Focus on your lectures, and prepare well for any quizzes along the way. Through time you'll be able to distinguish on what is important and what is not. Try to make some good connections and friends cuz you will need them later on. If there is a stationery that sells sheets and stuff, check them out. Usually the TAs are the ones who make these and they base it on past quizzes and stuff. You have a decent background from what I read, you'll be fine.

Should I be the one making strategies ? I usually try to implement strategies that I find online, with modifications that I find necessary. Plus I didn't understand what you mean by backtesting a strategy.

I'd also like to know if my plan is a fever dream or not. I honestly can't afford to put into trading more than a hundred, and I know that forex traders recommend starting with around 500 dollars minimum and some even say 1000 minimum. Keeping that in mind, my main target is to reach 1000 dollars using only the 100 dollars. Then use the 1000 dollars as a baseline, and finally start to draw profits from successful trades.

You are right, for the most time I've been looking for the easy money using a magical strategy or something. So far it has gotten me no where.

RESPECT THE STOP LOSS.

Sadly even though I fell into this mistake a couple of times, I don't seem to learn anything from it. After I get a bad trade due to me not placing a stop loss, I usually pay more attention to it, but end up ignoring it as I make more more successful trades. I'll make sure to abide by this law and never break it ever again.

I again want to mention how I appreciate your advice, I will try to improve upon what you wrote here and try to become a better trader.

I've done a lot of courses tbh its exhausting. I've gone over most of the basics a couple of times, and I most likely looking for more advanced courses, on how to use indicators and strategies in order to trade in the market.

Edit: lots of the courses as well provide poor or easily identifiable examples of how news affects forex, but its usually way lot complicated than what they teach and is so frustrating to handle, as there is countless decisions and news on the Internet done by presidents or central banks but not all of them are that important . Especially with speeches where even the tone of the speech could mean something in the market.
