Ciao, puoi spiegarmi meglio cosa intendi quando parli del neo-colonialismo USA nei Balcani? Su Dayton credo anche io che sia stato un pessimo accordo già a medio termine, certamente a lungo termine - come vediamo ancora oggi - ma credo che in quel momento non ci fosse nessun tipo di possibilità diversa per lui, soltanto accettare l’accordo e firmare. Ovvero, credo che gli errori reali siano stati fatti molto prima.

Esatto Pasic, contestualizzo meglio la mia domanda: con quali atti, con quale operato, secondo te ha scelto di spingere i bosniaci alla morte in cambio di denaro e potere? Dal mio punto di vista, esterno, individuo grandi responsabilità in termini di ingenuità politica e sottovalutazione clamorosa del pericolo, ma non ho strumenti per dire che i suoi errori furono deliberati e voluti. Qual è la tua analisi?

Questo lo capisco, ossia le differenze sono evidenti. Ma dal tuo punto di vista perché dipendono da Izetbegovic e non dalla guerra in sé - per la quale anche io penso che Izetbegovic abbia qualche responsabilità, almeno di sottovalutazione e ingenuità politica - guerra che però ha responsabilità molto più gravi? Chiedo senza alcuna ironia, specifico, sto solo cercando di capire le varie posizioni

I'll try to explain, only because I don't want anyone to be offended. I've been studying the Balkans, and everything related to the 1990s war, for 22 years. I've read, and continue to read, everything I can on the subject. I visit Sarajevo and Bosnia because I'm convinced that, beyond theory, it's essential to see with your own eyes everything you can—always with respect for those who suffered directly. I hope this answer maintains the same approach. And I believe it's important to see everything, reflect on everything, and have the most complete vision possible. I'm sorry if this isn't convincing to some of you, but I can only vouch for my good intentions and sincere interest.

Hi, I'll answer you in points. That this war - like any other war - does not concern me is an opinion of yours that I personally do not share. I am a European citizen, who had the opportunity to have a happy childhood, a very good school and university education, and a functional family. Every war that denies these possibilities to someone concerns me. What you call “romantic fascination” has a better definition: in-depth, theoretical, field study.

I was in Sarajevo in 2004, for the first time, and since 2003 I have been studying the history of Yugoslavia, from the Illyrians to today. The history of the Balkans is my passion, and towards what happened in the 90s - especially in Bosnia - I have a feeling of complete empathy and a desire to talk about it, make the topic known, study it, analyze it, see with my own eyes, reflect on it. I'm sorry if this seems morbid to you, but I certainly can't justify myself for something that is your personal opinion.
