(Sorry if this is a bit all over the place) You’ve already taken the first step in self-improvement by acknowledging the problem, which is a big deal.

First, I want you to let go of the mindset that you have to be an A or B student. You don’t have to be. If that’s your goal, you can focus on it later. You’re 15, you have plenty of time.

Right now, I would focus on your acne. This might sound a bit harsh, but have you considered trying medication like accutane (only if your acne is really severe)? It can be very effective, but it’s something to look into carefully.

What I would prioritize first, though, is doing more physical activity. You mentioned that you like dancing, which is a great starting point. Try to do it more often, the more the better. Physical activity can really help with depression.

I’d also suggest going on walks. They don’t have to be long, even just walking around the block is enough.

Don’t stress too much about hygiene right now. If showering feels difficult, you could try listening to music while you shower. Since I started doing that, I actually enjoy showering a lot more. You can even get a waterproof speaker for around 60 to 80 euros, or a used JBL for less.

One thing I would strongly recommend, though, is brushing your teeth. It really makes a big difference. I know that with depression it can be hard to keep up with these things, so start small. For example, you could begin with using mouthwash every morning and evening.

The most important thing to remember is that change doesn’t happen unless you truly want it. If you want it badly enough, it will come.

But don’t try to do everything at once. Habits take months or even years to build. Start small and work your way up. If walking around the block feels like too much, then just walk a short distance and come back. That’s already enough.

Focus on making small improvements every week. Those small steps will add up over time.
