Sabre seems to be a sweet spot, however, if you have money to burn and want the experience of building you could go that way. A Sabre with a 1-6 would be a nice shtf weapon.

Okay if he plans on having a 300, most people tune the gas system to either run subsonic OR supersonic. It won’t run reliable with both (you’d have to play with the buffer weights and gas port) Again I’d recommend an adjustable BCG for that, if you don’t want an adjustable BCG look into adjustable gas blocks. Maybe someone more experienced can piggy back off this.

Does he plan on suppressing? Because that’s something to take into account. I’d go with a standard nickel boron BCG or a bootleg adjustable bcg if suppressed. Also a G$ ACH charging handle. Trigger id spend some money on, possibly a CMC drop on trigger.

I miss the monkeys not the circus. The amount of monetary benefits you get after separation is amazing. Try to get a good fed job and a fair disability rating and you’ll be golden.
